I was trying to see if the SPDIF port on the TTX2 would actually work.
In the specs of the HW it states it can support up to 7.1 channels audio.

I tried to hook it up to my receiver, but nothing happend.
  • Is the OS configured to actually route this through to the SPDIF port?
  • Are the games actually making use of it? Or are they simply stereo?

a few of the dedicated cabs eg Battle Gear 4, half-life, cyber diver use it.

window normally requires you to select only one output port at a time. there is ways around this but i am pretty sure the standard TTX2 os install doesn't do this.

saying that i might look at if it can and pass the info on to niko for a future update.

Taito have a really nice little headphone amp pcb that has volume control and audio cut off when HPs are connected. so making it work with both might be something cool.
if not shouldn't be hard to add an option to the multi if niko is keen on it.

Do the 'non-supported' games have all audio streams for this?
Or would you just get 2.0 stereo sound over SPDIF?

You would get 2.0 over spdif. Being fighters and shmups 2.0 is all you need

Thanks - I tried with Streetfighter, but didn't hear anything. I will try with some other games too.

Yay! Apparently I misunderstood my AV Receiver || - SPDIF audio output now works

Meaning DVI output + SPDIF output works! I am using the multi of arcademodbios.
I will try Niko's multi tonight.

I can confirm that also Niko's Multi does the SPDIF audio output
