Hi guys,

I've been working on conversions on 16B hardware for a while now, and while I have a ROM board that supports most games - there are others I simply can't use on my board. I think it would be possible to create a universal ROM board for the platform that works with everything, and jumpers or something could be moved around to make the board into a different revision. The CPU board remains the same so I don't see why it wouldn't be possible.

The questions I have to start:

- Have the custom chips on the 5797 board been decapped and their functions converted? (I assume yes given E-Swat is playable in MAME and it's on this board
- Would it be possible to also play the 16A exclusive games on 16B hardware? (Fantasy Zone, Alex Kidd, SDI, Action Fighter)
- Which CPLD or FPGA would be best for recreating those customs and the tile banking PAL on the 5704 and 5521 revision boards? (the 5704 does not support EPROMs larger than 64k)
- Where do I even start?
- Am I crazy for even thinking this is possible?
