Aside from the game name and displayed language are there any F3 games with significant differences between rom versions/regions?

I'm mostly curious if there are situations where it's worth having multiple versions of the same game on the multi.

I only see one ROM version for Twin Qix in the MAME source... unless the other version is under a completely different name?

Dump the rightmost eprom's ( #11) contents with an eprom reader. The last byte of the rightmost eprom dictates in which language the game runs.

Value of 01 is Japanese.
Value of 02 is English.
Value of 03 is Europe.

Whats the difference between the Japanese and the other versions?

Of Twin Qix?
The Japanese version has anime character art and feels like a more polished game that is in line with the KANEKO Gals Panic games.
The English one has random real world location stock photos and is all bland and lifeless.
Here is a page that shows the differences:

System 16 has screen caps showing most of the other F3 game's title screens:

damn that's a difference in how it looks!
Didn't try them on the multi yet...

But are the backgrounds the only difference or are there differences gameplay wise?

Yep. It's mostly the backgrounds and menus that are different. But removing the anime art style while keeping the cute sounds and stuff...it just makes the English version into a soulless, bland mess.

Looking around I found there are some significant differences between Kaiser Knuclke, Global Champion, and Dan-Ku-Ga. from what I've been reading the following differences exist:

Kaiser Knuckle - original Japanese release

Global Champion - international release
!-removed super moves
-added character prologues
-change character portraits of Kazuya, Liza and Lihua
-changed title screen
-added "winners don't use drugs message

Dan-Ku-Ga - updated version (prototype)
!-Boss characters (Gonzales and Azteca) are playable
!-added ability to back dash
!-changed execution of certain moves
!-added ability to select difficulty
!-removed ability to select first opponent (except on training difficulty)
!-updated CPU AI
!-third boss (General) can be fought without meeting special conditions

So this is another one where it seems it'd be worth having all 3 game variants available.
