OK! I got it fixed. After letting the monitor sit and thinking on the problem, I figured it had to be the old and brittle original convergence strips that was the problem. Looking closely and sliding around another strip, I realised that one of the old strips had totally fallen apart...
Just the upper right corner. It's possible that one of the original strips fragmented inside, but I wasn't being harsh while i was moving the new strip around. As to bumping the yoke, I don't think I even touched it.
I made a mistake. I don't know how big yet. I was doing a monitor convergence on the Nanao MS-2931 monitor from my Blast City, the final thing I needed to do before putting it all back together. I had made strips out of sheet plastic and bits of snap off utility knife blades, just like I had...
One player with three buttons. The 'moves card' thing is from a 'Persona' game, I think.
I just realised that i wished a happy 4th of July to people, who most of which are probably no from the USA. ^^
Thanks for the PDF link. Being a collector of early 80's games, KLOV is where I hang out the most. I'm just one of those strange people that like both the golden age games and the JAMMA, silver age games.
By the way. The Blast City I just got has some kind of card reader embedded in the...
You could be right Blackfish. I plugged in my ARpiCADE and the test button brings up the configure screen on it. I tried both Raiden DX and Heavy Barrel and got no test, but maybe they both use dips. I know the PCB's do have dip switches on them, I just don't know what they all do.
A great...
I have tried two different PCB's, so that can't be the problem. It may be a continuity thing after all. I'm new to this and it is very hard to do without three hands, but I put one lead of my meter to the post on the switch and the other to the 15 spot on the JAMMA connector and get numbers on...
I was thinking that since the button next to it worked, the ground must be connected, but I just gave it a test and I'm getting a reading from the JAMMA grounds.
By the way, thanks to both PascalP and tiff_lee.
I ran one lead of my meter to the test switch terminal and the other lead to all of the JAMMA pins and got the continuity at pin 15. So I guess I have continuity. Sorry I'm a little out of my depth on this. My arcade machine knowledge is from the early 80's 'classic' realm and the're a bit...
A few weeks ago I had a problem with my Nanao MS-2931 OSD in my Blast City. Turns out it was a wire that had been pinched and severed. Fixed that and I am now trying to fix my screen convergence and would like to throw up a grid and other test patterns but the test button doesn't do anything...
Thanks for the advice PascalP. I got out my multi meter and was looking to see how I could access the back of the OSD to check it, when I noticed the wires I thought might be from it connecting to the chassis. Up close they looked strange, and under light I can see that the wires have been...
Hi everyone, im a new member here and need some help. I just got a Sega Blast City that uses a Nanao MS-2931 monitor. This monitor uses a 3 button control for the on screen display adjustment, but the mode button does nothing, even if I hold it down. The only button that does anything is the...
