You may not need high quality lens. I was thinking of cheap magnifiers. I’ll probably try on my own regular setup to see if there is any consequences with accuracy.

Thanks for your thread. That was useful as I finally had time to build my own setup. What about using lenses in front of IR led in order to make them appears bigger and/or increase range? Cannot they do the trick?
