@twistedsymphony: Awesome, thanks for that! I think I have that rotating mechanism. There were a few spare bits floating around in the cab, but it didn't seem like I had the complete parts for everything. This is a great start though.
Thanks for the info! I'm most interested in locking the CP as I have friends with young kids who'll be over to play. This way if the panel is secure there's no issues. =)
Hey,
My New Net City cab has turned out to be much more of a project (and expense) than I imagined. I'm getting down to the last few bits and among them are locks. The cab arrived without any which means that the service door doesn't stay on the machine and the control panel cannot be properly...
Thanks for all the replies! After pretty much a complete re-cap the monitor is back to life. Pretty relieved. Would anyone have any advice on fixing a geometry issue with the monitor. I've modded the remote board, but I'm not sure what setting I should be messing with.
You can see the cross...
Got the board pulled. No legible value on the cap, but some searching yielded this:

So in case anyone else ever runs into this problem, the cap value for ceramic disc capacitor C808 on the Toshiba D29CQ51 (PB9929) appears to be 4.7nF/1000V...
@twistedsymphony that's a great write up!
Thanks everyone for the input. I'm going to try to put a cap order together tonight, and maybe try to pull the board as well. :D
I've got a similar thread on Arcade Otaku and someone over there pointed out this split capacitor:

I really need to pull that board and inspect closer.
Thanks for the feedback. I guess I have some research to do as far as potential flyback/HOT replacements. I'll have to pull the board to look for cold solder joints. This is first go-around with working on a monitor (and my solder skills are pretty remedial), so it's all a bit daunting. Thanks...
Just to follow up, I finally got around pulling the cabinet apart to get a better look at what's going on. It definitely seems like something wrong with a component on the chassis board.
It may be that a cap kit is whats needed, but the clicking noise makes me think something else is up. Before...
Hi All,
I've just gotten a New Net City cabinet and I'm trying to get things up and running. I'm trying to figure out some monitor issues, and I'm pretty new to this, so any and all help is appreciated.
I've noticed that after the cabinet has been sitting the monitor does not like to power on...
Thanks for the info!
After posting this I noted that Jasen was back from deployment and apparently re-opening on Thursday, so I'll see if he's going to be selling the repro once he's going again.
My New Net City will hopefully be arriving in the next two weeks and I'm looking for a two player/six button control panel to replace the non-NNC control panel it's arriving with. It seems like originals are difficult to come by, so I'd certainly consider a repro. I'd appreciate any suggestions...
