Cabling for JAMMA audio, video, and DC power

Hi all. I would love to get y’all’s opinion or find a vendor or DigiKey part for reasonably good conductors of JAMMA speaker and video signal (very short runs we use in various projects between 1ft and 2m). Maybe shielded, multiple conductor coax of the appropriate gauge is overkill, but if...

    Positive feedback for YeaOhRetro

In this post, @YeaOhRetro announced he was open to selling his Darksoft Neo Geo Multi MVS. I reached out and we settled on a fair price over text messages. He recorded several videos demonstrating how to use the item in his candy cab, which I've since referred to. Within a couple of days the...

    Positive feedback for JohnRambo'sKnife

In this thread, @JohnRambo'sKnife offered to sell me his CPS2 DigitalAV. In our DMs, he asked to sell it at cost, and showed photos of the item and his receipt from purchasing it recently. He shipped it out within 1 day, and I received the item promptly, in good condition. This was just modded...

CPS2 Digital AV Designer and Availability

Hi all. Various Digital AV configurations had been available on videogameperfection.com, but they haven't for a bit. I need another one. May I ask who designed this board? Also are there any other ways for me to get one, including building one myself provided a parts list? Thank you!

Should I un-mod this CPS-III, for Darksoft to work?

Hi all. I noticed a couple of mods were done on my CPS3 board, and wonder if anyone can shed light on them. 1. A couple of pins from the DL-2929 custom IC are wired in parallel to a resistor, terminating onto pins of the IC labeled 12F (HA16103FPJ). (see image) 2. PIN 1-14 on CN5 is jumped over...

The Real Phoenix A/V amp for custom superguns, COMBO AV EX++, PANA, or Boardmaster

The Real Phoenix A/V amp for custom superguns, COMBO AV EX++, PANA, or Boardmaster Overview I’d like to share a solution to attenuate RGB and audio levels in a custom supergun, or to fix the output from various Japanese superguns. This PCB was generously put together and open-sourced by The Real...

    Supergun RGB Attenuation in 2023

I have one of these superguns with RGBS on the JAMMA edge wired directly to a DIN8 port (and by convention, the associated SCART pins). This includes the Boardmaster, PANA Twin, COMBO AV EX++, and others. There are several threads on the topic, but they are a little out of date. RGB pots on a...

HAS Supergun HD15 to Extron RGB 203 Rxi

Hi all. I have the HD15 PCB on my HAS Supergun, and inputs / audio are working great. However, running a VGA cable to my Extron RGB 203 Rxi, which works with other RGBHV signals, doesn’t seem to work. It’s like the picture doesn’t sync. Has anyone set this up? The CSync switch SW3 is set to “B”.

Treating the dimness of my Sega Net City / Nanao MS-2933

Hey all. The monitor in my Net City has become more dim over time, and I wish I could do something about it. I wonder if someone could answer some questions! How likely is it that this is simply the phosphor layer, and unfixable? If it is the gun, I do have a good rejuvenator (Sencore) but have...

Arcade board PCB form factor and enclosure

Hi all, The main PCBs I have sitting out hooked up to the supergun for long periods are a Capcom Sony ZN-2 (Tetris The Grand Master) and PSIKYO SH2 (Tetris The Absolute The Grand Master 2). Can anyone help me think about the "right" way to mount them, or even put them in an enclosure? Without...
