DARKSOFT The Definitive Guide to Fixing Your CPS2 Multi Kit

@Darksoft Is there any kind of diagnostic program that can be run that might help diagnose where the issue for this might lie? Short recap: CPS2 kit will play unencrypted roms (the hacks) just fine for as long as I want, but encrypted games exhibit strange behavior; they will flash, the key...

DARKSOFT The Definitive Guide to Fixing Your CPS2 Multi Kit

Yeah, I cranked it high, just in case. I normally keep it closer to 5.0/4.9 This is the cab that normally plays the darksoft MVS just fine, though... And it still makes it strange how unencrypted games will play fine for however long I want. Do encrypted games somehow use more power?

DARKSOFT The Definitive Guide to Fixing Your CPS2 Multi Kit

I have this in a super neo29 cab (just because it's my only other JAMMA cab). I adjusted the voltage to 5.2 volts (measured while the board is connected and on, right at the back of the harness). Can confirm the coin counter increment bug was due to bad connection between A and B board. After...

DARKSOFT The Definitive Guide to Fixing Your CPS2 Multi Kit

Put it in another cab with a power supply and adjusted it even to 5.1v. Still the same problem. Though certain games, in a strange effect, rapidly increment the credit counter on the cab. Again, all the hacks seem to work perfectly (just tried out Punisher, among others, and it's great). Is...

DARKSOFT The Definitive Guide to Fixing Your CPS2 Multi Kit

I'm having a strange issue: I have the key writing firmware, and all the correct wires hooked up. When I load an encrypted game, it will flash normally, write the key, and boot correctly. The game will play fine for about 2 or 3 minutes, but then it will crash (generally freeze, but sometimes...

NEOGEO + AES Multigame cartridge - NEW POLL INCLUDED. PLEASE VOTE!

Awesome, I was #208 on that thread, so I hope I squeaked in under the wire. Just for clarification, is there a way to know if our pre-order will be processed in this first batch (e.g. will we be sent an invoice or confirmation email)? Also, are people limited to 1 unit per person this time...

NeoSD? That's not a DarkSoft project, is it?

HOly crap. I had no intention of this becoming a thread to advocate this product or anything. I just found this at work the other day on my lunch break and wanted to make sure this wasn't an early preorder page for DS's board or anything like that (the similar price is what had me...

NeoSD? That's not a DarkSoft project, is it?

Moderated by Mitsu: IMPORTANT: Read BEFORE You Post After a bit of discussion Darksoft and I have decided to open this thread back up. But we will have some guidelines: Our rules mention that we support the sale of items by users as long as it doesn't conflict with one of our projects. So...

NEOGEO + AES Multigame cartridge - NEW POLL INCLUDED. PLEASE VOTE!

I know this might have been mentioned before, but to cut down cost and save yourself the cost and headache of doing a production run of cases, could you maybe just release STL files (used in 3d printers) for an MVS and AES case, and let people print them on their own? Places like 3dHubs allow...

NEOGEO + AES Multigame cartridge - NEW POLL INCLUDED. PLEASE VOTE!

Some games actually allowed multiple save slots for different saves ( Savage Reign, Crossed Swords ), but most did not support this. On top of that, later Neo Geo games got lazy with thinking about the save feature (since almost no one used it). As a result, for example, KOF 2000 and 20001 use...

Netboot question: Setting test menu options (i.e. Free Play ect) on load

Does anyone know if the games themselves can be patched or modified to be set up for free play or event mode upon net loading? I've seen some games start up in free play mode. Do those settings reside in the DIMM memory, or deeper somewhere on the naomi board itself?

    Neo Geo Memory Cards

These just use FM1808 FRAM (as opposed to SRAM) chips that look to have the legs soldered directly to the card pinouts. These should be backward-engineerable relatively easily.

NEOGEO + AES Multigame cartridge - NEW POLL INCLUDED. PLEASE VOTE!

I'd definitely be down for 1. As a feature request, would it be possible to re-engineer the firmware flashing method from the Multi-cps2? Having to solder in a bunch of stuff just to update the firmware is a little hard.
