DJ Boy and Blast City woes

Yeah, check voltages Haven't seen it mentioned before - the 3.3v pot on the blast PSU actually adjusts the 12v output as well, at least on mine. Had an issue with Rally Bike not wanting to start in my Blast but worked fine in the Astro, low 12v was the culprit in that case

Naomi video on 15Khz looks pretty terrible

Semi on-topic, but I coincidentally just asked Joko about finding one of these: Barely any info out there but it looks to me like an official second RGB amplifier for the Sega Jamma/JVS adapter I thought my setup was faulty for the longest time 'cause the output of the Naomi through my Rev. B...

Joko Re-Introduction, YAJ/Akiba Shopping Service Offer (CLOSED as of 8/21/23)

Joko Service is already on version 11 imo, unless you start giving my items a kiss before tucking them in for bed every night I don't see much room for improvement Enjoy the "vacay"!

Joko Re-Introduction, YAJ/Akiba Shopping Service Offer (CLOSED as of 8/21/23)

I have an ongoing arrangement with Joko on some comparatively low-value items, and despite the relatively small amount of return for him Joko's been extremely communicative, patient and friendly. Absolutely top class service and I'll immediately reach out to him before ever thinking of using any...

WTB Sega Astro/Blast City - Taito Egret II (Canada)

Ah, a time machine haver ;) Jokes aside, what does an Egret 2 provide that a New Astro doesn't that makes it worth 2x/3x more to folks in 2022? A rotate mech? From my perspective it's got similar ergonomics, construction and it's comprised of essentially the same fundamental "components" that...

WTB Sega Astro/Blast City - Taito Egret II (Canada)

I love my Blast. I originally hated its lool but over time I've grown to like it quite a lot. That being said, I would never recommend a blast to anyone in 2022 if they have the luxury of choice, at least until there's some sort of chassis replacement. I regretted mine completely up until I...

WTB Sega Astro/Blast City - Taito Egret II (Canada)

Watching the arcade "community" morph into the bloated, dusty-ass pinball market in real time In the long run everyone loses except the hoarders, flippers and folks with time machines

3D printed replacement cases for carts

Sure thing! Attached is original bottom and "new" top. Again, all credit to SnakeGrave, the only thing I did to it was fill the text. FYI I used #6 3/4" pan head tapping screws from my local hardware store to fasten the case together, worked well for me but YMMV

3D printed replacement cases for carts

Feel like this thread didn't get enough love, just wanted to chime in and say the cases are pretty fantastic, thank you for designing them @snakeGrave! For anyone printing their own: OP didn't mention it but the pgmTop.stl without recessed text appears to be an older design with a slight PCB...

    hi. everyone. i am yaton

Yaton is legit. Got an astro city from him as it was easily the cheapest option even after freight to canada. Took care of everything, cab just appears at my door months later and was exactly as expected and described. Also paid extra for a spare chassis and it was all included, and the...

    PCB Repair

I'd like to say that the amount of information in this thread so far is excellent! I'm familiar with the low hanging fruit (reflowing, patching traces etc.) and it's done me well so far over the years, but I've been looking at a stubborn Taito F3 that just cycles a single color screen and have...
