JNX Big Red Adapter JAMMA to MVS + Double Dragon PCB

Thanks again! Got the negatron and now it works (except for the part where I had it the wrong way and I smelled something burning). Follow-up question. Should I unplug it when using boards that don’t require -5V? Is there any harm in leaving it plugged on the adapter?

    WTB MVS Recap Services?

That’s what I heard. Definitely beyond my skills without making some damage. I’m in Orange County in Southern California.

    WTB MVS Recap Services?

Any recommendations? Looking for someone to recap a MVS 4 Slot board. My soldering skills leave much to be desired and I’m worrying about damaging it.

JNX Big Red Adapter JAMMA to MVS + Double Dragon PCB

You’re right… found this on the Aussie Arcade forum, “Usually the lack of sound on a DD board is due to missing -5volts” Thank you so much!!!

JNX Big Red Adapter JAMMA to MVS + Double Dragon PCB

Ordered! Dumb question, I never had that problem with a SUPERGUN, is that because it provides the -5V for the boards that need it. Do the boards that don’t just “ignore” it? How do I know when a board needs the -5V? Sorry, I know I should know this when bringing cabs and PCBs home :)

JNX Big Red Adapter JAMMA to MVS + Double Dragon PCB

Hi! I finally got my first MVS cabinet (MVS-4-25 rev.3). I'm over the moon, but it is a new world for me as my experience has only been with a consolized MVS and SUPERGUNs. One of the reasons I went with the Big Red was so I could run my horizontal PCBs in the cab with the JNX adapter. I've...

    GI JOE Sound

Thank you Drago. I did learn since then how those go bad fairly often. Got a new module from Caius, one of the crystals was also lifted for whatever reason. It was a bit more advanced repair than I can handle so worked with Ken at irepairsega. Awesome dude.

    GI JOE Sound

I’m truly sorry if this is a dumb question, but I just picked up a GI JOE PCB that looks in phenomenal shape, but I’m getting no sound. I noticed the board has a sound out section, do I not get sound though JAMMA with this one? Do I need an extra audio harness? None of my other boards has an...

Lucky Moron PCB Repair - #1 Double Dragon

Thanks Monster! I'm still somewhat new to PCB buying. I've been curious as to what determines value. For instance, if the arcade operator had to service a machine, pulled out a Hitachi 27256 ROM and replaced it with an Intel ROM, but then put the cool shiny sticker on it, is that bad? Is that...

Lucky Moron PCB Repair - #1 Double Dragon

Pardon my dumb ass, but what is that process like? As simple as it sounds? Hair dryer heat on the label/sticker, and pick/pull/remove with an exacto?

Lucky Moron PCB Repair - #1 Double Dragon

Nearly a year later, I’m back. More powerful, more understanding, still breaking shit. I had no idea what I was doing when I asked you the question, and I had just started collecting (but I was trying to sound smart). Finally got me a programmer and a UV easy bake oven and your words now made...

Lucky Moron PCB Repair - #1 Double Dragon

Thank you so much. I'm totally new here, but having similar sprite issues with Double Dragon. First visible when the lady with the whip shows up, and later Bobo. Best way to start diagnosing is checking the ROMS associated with sprites?
