Hitachi Apple Deskstar

I read that Hitachi HDDs are good for Lindbergh for original games but I wanted to know..

1.) Would the Apple version of the IDE drive which is 180 GB work on a Lindbergh?

2.) Could a multi be installed in said Apple HDD? or does it have to be a non-apple firmware deskstar?
