Changed supercap, nothing. Changed a bulged cap, nothing. Changed the TA8225L Amp, and TC9185P and TC9176P and that brought the sound back. Not sure which one of these fixed it, since i replaced them all at once. Now, the sound works, and I can see the sound bar. However the sound doesnt seem to change when I lower or raise the volume. I can see the sound meter go up / down, but the sound doesnt change. I'm testing inside an Astro Cab and the if I use the sound dial inside the Astro the sound do…

I tried volume reset by holding down, but not up. I'll try that, then swap the supercap! Thanks

got a weird one, hopefully someone has seen this before. I have an A board that does not have sound, specifically it doesnt have the sound bar that is found in the test menu. Alot of cps2 games like (MvC and MvSf) have a sound meter you can see when entering the test menu and you can visually see what sound setting the board is at. [O - 39] this specific A board works fine, but has no sound and no sound bar/meter when entering the sound menu. Has anybody ever experienced this?

  • just read you have them. I'd recommend you just buy a programmer! For the cost if mailing back and forth the chips you can get a programmer and uv eraser and burn them.

  • those should be really simple to burn. Do you have any blank chips?

  • great experience buying from them. They ship FAST and very well packed. Go for it!

I've always wanted to add usb controller functionality to an arcade cabinet. Recently I have been working on an astro city cabinet and have plans to wire in UD USB Screw Terminal Decoders into the harness to have a dual action control system. I'd like to keep the original Astro CP controls but add the ability to plug in your own stick for those that are very picky of the controls that they play on. As I get closer to the project I'm left thinking I really don't know what would be best way to tap…

  • I'd think lots of flux and solder wick WOULD work. I have never done it. Try it and see how easy it is to have the wick get rid of the solder. I think if you have 96 holes, odds are you will run into problems. High risk of burning or lifting up a trace etc. Seems Meybarra had good results wit a desoldering gun. Now might be a good time to invest in one...I personally have a Hakko and can't imagine desoldering things without it.

Quote from awbacon1: “Quote from Segasonicfan: “ ” I recently got a CPS 2 B board in. In a large priority box with a thin piece of bubble wrap. Shocked it didn’t get destroyed in transit. ” I got TWO cps2 b boards shipped in a regional rate box to me with nothing inside the box but the boards crammed in there. I was so upset when I got the box. Relieved they arrived intact. One of them was an original SSF2X on battery.... The fact he crammed them in made it so they didnt move inside freely and t…

  • I have successfully super glued them back on. Should be easy peezy if you still have the leg.

  • the wrong leg you shaved off is a support to properly press down the pcb in case. This is what probably is causing your connection issue when in the case. To confirm, with the cps2 case off it works right?

Great thread. Just got an Astro and I'll be "attempting" to restore it. These pictures of a minty Candy Cab are really nice motivation/encouragement.

I'd like to be added to the list as well.

  • I really don't think the stickers are saveable if you try to remove them. Best I've done is dab some adhesive on the corners and re glue lifted edges. I tried to remove one with a heat gun once and it came off in pieces. For my latest multi the sticker was in tact so I just placed the new multi sticker on over it and it came out great.

If your concern is that the label is a reproduction because it's glossy and in good shape, I think you are over thinking it. The entire shell looks to be well cared for and the label looks original in my opinion. I don' have any blue SF Alpha 2 to compare it to, but maybe somebody here does.

    roms inside original?

  • those lines definetly looks like a bad A/b connection as stated. Try blowing the pins and the female headers with compressed air and checking for bent bins like @xodaraP said. Also, try to press down in the connectors while it's on to see if the lines go away when pressing down on the B board.

  • Got mine installed and worked first try. What a great item. Makes the key writing wires ALOT easier.

  • I'll quote out what it would cost to ship this up to you as well. Should fit in a small bubble envelop.
