Quote from Apocalypse: “What is it about? I've never played any 246/256 game. ” He's suggesting you make reproductions of these: arcade-projects.com/forums/ind…2a5ceb507455a8118908cdb0c It's a memory expansion module for early revision System 246s. I'm honestly not sure how much it's needed since from what I've been reading the versions of the 246 that can accept these are pretty uncommon. I've been testing with the Sega JVS/JAMMA IO I suppose it's possible my issues with that game are IO related. So far everything else I've tested has worked great with it.

Quote from ReplicaX: “Original stickers were foil backed. ” that's exactly why I'm asking. I can print my own labels but most of the ones I've seen are foil backed.... that's what I really need.

I've seen quite a few conversions that use nice looking "CAPCOM" logoed labels on the EPROMs similar to the original EPROM labels. Is there someone that sells these? I'd love to pick some up to make my conversion boards look a bit nicer. 2013-04-21+10.27.25.jpg

Has anyone been successful in playing Sengoku Basara X Cross? Other than the Driving games and Pro Yakyuu that's the only one still giving me grief. I haven't tested on Disc yet though. Some other notes: 1. Kinnikuman 2 is a system 246 game while Kinnikuman 1 is a System 256 game. Not sure why the newer game was released on older hardware but that's how it is. I'm assuming someone saw that K1 was 256 and just assumed the sequel was as well. I made the opposite assumption when I discovered that K…

Quote from Darksoft: “It wont boot without a expansion memory ” interestingly both they seem to boot without it, they just lock up after the intro video.

Quote from rtw: “Which sys246 unit do you have @twistedsymphony ” I have a system 246B and a System 256 I recall seeing those memory expansion modules before. I wasn't sure what they were used for, good to know. is it just RRV and WM that use it?

  • The reset point on my 256 works great, I've been using it often. I pulled the mobo caddy out of my 246b to see if it had a similarly labeled RST point and I couldn't find one, though I didn't really go too far in the disassembly. it basically has a PS2 main board and then a "246 mother" board that plugs into it for all of the front panel and IDE connections arcade-projects.com/forums/ind…2a5ceb507455a8118908cdb0c arcade-projects.com/forums/ind…2a5ceb507455a8118908cdb0c arcade-projects.com/forums…

  • on Tekken 5.1 I can boot this: te51-dvd0.iso & tekken51-te51verb.bin but not this: te51-dvd0.iso & tekken51b-te53verb.bin I wonder if a different DVD is needed for the USA dongle.

  • so why are you playing this on a PVM instead of a blast?

  • well when a working battle garegga sells for $1600 ... $400 is a low gamble.

@rtw There seems to be at least a few improperly packed discs. Netchuu Pro Yakuu 2002 is one of them. it's a CD game but appears to be packed as a DVD and neither of us have been able to get it to boot from disc. There are a few other CD games packed as DVD but most of them seem to work (though I don't know how accurate the unpacked discs are to the original). I think Smash Court Pro and Ridge Racer V fall into this category. Then there's Super Dragonball Z which I believe is a DVD game but is p…

  • sounds like the firmware and files are good so then just double check the wiring. I think I've heard of some b boards that wont take a reflashes of the key so maybe your security chip is too far gone?

  • yup for key writing you really need 3 things 1. Wiring 2. The key files in your game folders 3. The right firmware. You bought this multi used right? Is it possible that it's old enough that it need the firmware updated with the tool?

  • Quote from Darksoft: “Possibility to disable hot keys completely. Besides being good for Arcades where operator doesnt want intervention, another advantage of this is that this cart is the only one providing 100% original code if you use a OG bios. This can be used in competitions as now code is run 100% as original. Unibios and NeoSD introduce some additional code that may alter the original / intended running of the game. ” Thank you for this! can't wait to try out the new menu

  • I'm not an expert repair person... far from it. I don't remember if these boards have a ROM and RAM test but that would be the first thing to try. IF that passes then it's likely a problem with one of the CPUs. these PCBs are actually a REALLY simple design, there's not much too them. If there is no ROM test then another thing you can try is replacing the graphics ROMs in MAME one by one with a dummy file of the same size filled with 0s and then see which file gives you bad graphics in the same …

  • I replied in the other thread: [Help] Psikyo PS3 V1 (SH2) PCB - Strikers 1945 II glitch chances are though even if you want to convert it, you'll want to fix the graphical problems first.
