  • If you are suggesting on the forum to do something which is considered dangerous by the original creator themselves, please make sure that you note the caution in the same post. Not everyone are well informed about all the different retro gaming mods. Someone who isn't informed might take action based on your post even though the risks might be too high for them and they might have otherwise not carried out the mod if they were informed. However it is interesting to see that someone is experimen…

  • Very true.

  • As far as I read v0 has 5v on the GD rom connector whereas the v1 has 3.3v, so it would be interesting to see if your Dreamcast runs normally. "NOTE: VA0 and VA2.1 are NOT compatbile with GDEMU. While it can be installed inside VA0 model and will appear to work, it is not safe and will eventually result in damage to the device and/or console itself. VA0: Found mostly in JP region, though some US consoles exist as well. Uses slightly earlier motherboard revision with temperature sensor, heat pipe…

  • Why not use the datasheet example?

  • I hope you got the first copy and not the second copy.

  • Not the golden eye he was aiming for.

  • You know you have a problem when the first copy bootlegger warns you of the second copy problem being poor. <img src="1okpck.jpg"

  • Quote from Mitsurugi-w: “Does it work with X'eye? ” No.

  • MiSTer is getting the ESP Ra De / DDP port maybe by end of the year, would be interesting to see if it can be as accurate as the OG hardware. I know a lot people are skeptical about MiSTer which is understandable and that platform needs to prove itself - however if we can get even an xbox 360 level of fidelity it would be good There are people who have managed to 1'cc Gradius III (SA-1) without the slowdowns (I cant manage to do it even with slowdowns) so I fail to see why its a big deal for ave…

  • There is an active project to port SNES games like Gradius III which have slowdowns to use SA-1 chip so the games run full speed with no slowdowns. While its technically very impressive not sure if that was the intention of the gods; youtube.com/watch?v=pmJyQiL9wYg

  • Quote from beast1x5: “that wasn't a PS-Mini... that was an actual PS1 after doing the whole sun bleaching ordeal from 2 weeks ago.. ” I stand corrected.

  • Quote from Sabin: “Just accept the fact that you don't like that he covered TO's product. Unfortunately these arguments are starting to sound like the NG forums a place which I know we all do not want to be like. ” For me that's not true, he can cover whatever he likes. I was in the wrong of holding him up to higher standards (as earlier)where he would actually test a product before calling it the "Neogeo multi cart of his choice" - something any newbie with disposable cash would hear and go buy…

  • I dont think the Stereo / Mono is an issue here. I just felt he is leading people on given the following points: 1. Terraonion's history with subpar product quality at launch. 2. Bob's own experience and earlier warning people to stay away from TO. 3. Silently removing those warning from his blog now. 4. Declaring NeoSD Pro cart of his choice even before he tested the feature. Quote from beast1x5: “anywho at this point it just seems like people are attacking bob for his alleged turnaround on ter…

  • Just not free merchandise, FirebrandX was telling how amazing the unknown device would be 3 weeks before the device was revealed on Discord. When pushed, he admitted he was working for TO but remuneration wasn't decided as of that date. We dont know who else TO pays to reach the customers who know no better but trust their gurus. This is part of the reason TO's product costs a fair bit more.

  • @moggsie worst case scenario wait for the DS AES cart to have the NGCD support specially if you already have a DS Multi. (It is not top of their priority list so we have to wait but its in the list). Even if you dont, it is still cheaper than the NeoSD Pro. And support here is a lot better than TO. Instead of bullshitting about others like they do, here they spend time actually troubleshoot our problems. And again, this informational video was done without any actual testing - not sure how based…

  • Quote from beast1x5: “He reviews items unbiased and will call out their failures if there are any.. he's literally a consumer and when a product is good he'll praise it.. if it's bad he will point it out.. ” Given that the product is still really untested by the customers this was more of a promotional video in the guise of a review. I am not sure he did enough testing on it to actually document its failures / bugs. Only time will tell if this "review" was indeed a review.

  • Pretty unreasonable price given its a FPGA based emulator imo. It was odd that they were shitting on MiSTer on their discord for costing around $300 for full setup with open source FPGA cores for free (most MiSTer console cores will be at par with the Analogue emulations soon if not already) and then using the same open source 68K core that MiSTer uses for its Genesis core, fixing a minor bug and making a huge deal out of it, and releasing just another FPGA emulator.
