A failure on one simm can sometimes cause the wrong error to show. It can be tricky to pinpoint which one without a working spare to swap.

Good idea but some people that installed it have also lifted pads. There is no perfect solution currently though the quick solder PCB is super awesome.

Video is old info. Jumpers should not need to be changed if the original game worked ok.

Pretty sure the answer will be "I rewrote the game using standard SH2 version and now all is well" The system does not write from the disc/sd card every boot. The game is loaded and then held in memory until written over. On every boot after the game is written the system checks for the proper disc and then boots.
