Hi guys, I recently purchased the cps2 multi from high score saves and cant get it to display anything other then a white screen. Ive tried installing the kit on two different boards (rev6 & 7) with the same results. Its currently installed on a rev 7 board With a g pal installed. I double checked the jumpers which match the installation vid. My voltage is at 5.17v. I have the key writing wires connected and tested continuity with a multi meter. Also checked continuity on the two pcbs for the kit. Im using an 8g sandisk that came with it. The lcd display shows the game name and says have fun. During the writing process the screen goes black then returns to white after its done loading a game. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Not really sure what to do from here.

Thanks ive checked out the section on the white screen issue but all the possible issues seem to be fine. No bent or broken pins. And the sd card seems to work fine. Ill pop up some pics.

ive only done one Darksoft kit but this forum and one thread got me going when i had problems.

the jumpers were my problem, on the game board. use a multimeter and triple check every single one. note that you just need one on and one off per pair. this was what got me.

if its not the jumpers all you can do is pull the thing out and put it all back in gently and firmly.

hope this helps. keep at it, its worth it :)

Thanks for the suggestion. gonna check the jumpers right now. Im hoping its something simple like that. Tomorrow is my birthday and i was really hoping to spend it playing some cps2 games lol.

Just took the boards out and tested the jumpers. They all matched up and tested fine. Reseated everything. Still get the white screen.

when you say matched up did you test them all to death with a multimeter ?
in my case, one which looked soldered was not. then when i soldered it, it also bridged another jumper. so i had to stuff around with it until the jumpers were good.

if its not the jumpers someone else may need to chime in.
gooduck and happy bday for tomorrow - hope you get 'er going (SSF2X traning is my choice of game atm - much training needed)

Yep tested every jumper open and closed. Matched them up to the picture thats on the installation vid. They were actually already in the correct place so didnt have to add or remove any. Thanks for the suggestions though! Hopefully someone has some other ideas cuz im out of them.

I had the same issue. It ended up being that the little interconnect pcb was not seated all the way. You have to ensure its seated all the way down, it tends to want to sit an an angle.

Take a picture of the PCB from the side so we can see how it's connecting the two PCBs together.

Heres a pic of the front and side. Think I have them pushed down as far as they will go.

Push down some more, carefully, try to align both edges evenly.

Ok i just removed the little pcb that joins the two bigger ones together. Then made sure the two pcbs are pushed down as much as i can. Then pushed down the joining pcb all the way.
Got the multi meter back out and tested continuity between the pins on top of the kit with the pins under the B board. Theyre all making contact. But im still getting the white screen.

your LCD screen has a weird name for the gigawing game. Did you download the roll up packs and make a custom one? Which roms do you have?

I sure didnt use the roll up pack. I was having trouble downloading it. I found a site that had cps2 roms and added giga wing and eco fighters. I actually tried a few roms from a couple different sites. Is the roll up pack mandatory? Im gonna try downloading It again on a friends computer.

Files in the rollup are prepared correctly and include the mandatory key file. Try this link I think it’s the full mame set: https://mega.nz/#!kkx2jJqL!jKJAnCevg8woKYXrcQFN3QU4icryCm6Sp4ba0McHPds

And the smaller USA-region set along with some nice hacks: https://mega.nz/#!VhwwUShT!S7HWQsrKQjwYiRGcTspnCRuDBBf2aSyC796FxPYqCc8
