Hello everyone, I have a monitor issue and I hoping to find some help here. So I sold my big red and got a super neo 29. I spent some time restoring it. I put the monitor back it and I tried to adjust the settings to get a good picture but no matter what I do ( focus and all) the picture is not sharp and I can get it give the proper image. After talking to couple of people. It seems I have the following issue
My tube is a toshiba A68KJU96X01 4D
My chassis it a nanao MS8 26A the model number is 5A0018581. So apparently those parts are not compatible and that why I’m able to get a good image. I have never worked on a CRT and I dont have the skills for that. So my question are
1 can anyone confirm the diagnosis? (Incompatibility of parts)
2 what is my best option to solve the pb
3 anyone working on monitor that may be local or in central California close to san jose who can help me.

Thanks for any helps

Your chassis is for 26" screen, your tube is 29". They will have different yokes, which is why your picture looks blurry.

2 what is my best option to solve the pb
Get a matching chassis. You want a MS8-29. It's a very common chassis.

The two chassis are more or less the same value (around $100-130), so just buy the correct chassis and then sell the incorrect one.

You could also get a MS9-29 chassis, however, I think I remember the yoke connectors being different and you might have issues with the vertical size. It's also a more expensive chassis.

Even if it was yoke swapped it would still have some geo issues.

Regardless, Nem is right, you want a MS8-29 chassis and I'd even check the yoke and see what's there.

ms8-26 is a very odd yoke, its 0.300mh high impedance vertical 50 ohms- never seen it used on any other chassis
ms8-29 and ms9-29 are almost compatible, the ms9 has so many sub controls it can easily take up any slack in the yoke difference- only issue as mentioned is the connector is different

its wise for collectors to own an inductance meter so they can read yokes, a standard multimeter will read impedance
