What's new
Please check:

IC26 => C0
IC25 => C1
IC24 => C2
IC23 => C3

IC34 => 000
IC35 => 010
IC36 => 020
IC37 => 030
These are correct now.
I had IC34-37 reversed.
Flipping jumper J15 back to 512 gets me a "H1 L1 NG"
After digging through all the dip switches:
SW1 00000010 Attract Mode Audio + Normal Difficulty + Normal 1UP Play
SW2 00001111 FreePlay
Flipping jumper J15 back to OT BOOTs the game.

I'll write a summary on how to do this in one place so others can follow.
What a journey, and a way to kick off the new year.
Thank you @Apocalypse

Probably due to the fact you used double sized EPROMs for H1/L1.R-Type Leo uses the exact same rom sizes for H0/L0 (256k) and H1/L1 (128k) and you have to move J15 to 512.

BTW, you're welcome, enjoy your new game. :D
IN SUMMARY:

Using a Major Title 2 US arcade PCB as a donor...

PCB LOCATION - EPROM USED - ITH ROM USED
H0 - 27C020 - ITH-H0-D.BIN
H1 - 27C020 - ITH-H1-B.BIN
L1 - 27C020 - ITH-L1-D.BIN
L0 - 27C020 - ITH-L0-B.BIN
C0 - 27C040 - ITH_IC26.ROM
C1 - 27C040 - ITH_IC25.ROM
C2 - 27C040 - ITH_IC24.ROM
C3 - 27C040 - ITH_IC23.ROM
DA - 27C040 - ITH_IC9.ROM
SL0 - 27C512 - APOCALYPSE DECRYPT SOUND ROMS
SH0 - 27C512 - APOCALYPSE DECRYPT SOUND ROMS
000 - 27C080 - ITH_IC34.ROM
010 - 27C080 - ITH_IC35.ROM
020 - 27C080 - ITH_IC36.ROM
030 - 27C080 - ITH_IC37.ROM

Jumpers were installed and set at the following locations:
J1 = N
J6 = N
J8 = 4M
J15 = OT vs 512 (if I burn ROMs L1 + H1 with 27C010 EPROMs, I set this to 512)
J16 = 4S

Dip Switches on main board were set to the following positions:
SW1 00000010 Attract Mode Audio + Normal Difficulty + Normal 1UP Play
SW2 00001111 FreePlay

This was quite a journey.
Being it was my first major conversion, I learned a lot.
Especially understanding how to look at ROMs, and how they relate to their respective platform PCB.
I assume I can do the same thing with this board converting it to R-Type Leo, Gunforce, etc.
Just burn a set and put er in place, change their jumpers.
I should have enough EPROMs to make another ROM set.

I think I remember reading you can leave most of the jumpers set to a bigger size even if the game doesn't use them.

Not entirely true, 27C020 EPROMs need their pin 31 tied high. On bigger EPROMs this is signal A18, not sure how M92 behave when not used (stuck low? stuck high?).
Anyway I discovered it to be a problem when reversing the 315-5436 custom chip found on "newer" S18 romboards. The chip indeed has its A18 signal stuck high when configured to use smaller ROMs.

Nice work @psykom1. You even followed my recommendation to use the jumper caps and header pins. Word!
Yeah, that's kinda the only way to really do it right.
Just use the right chemicals, and heat to get er all cleaned up, and soldered on.
It'll work for decades.
Plus I want to be prepared for the multi.
Do I need to solder more for the potential multi is the big question???
There's a great thread here we had about Jumpers for games.

FIXED SUMMARY FOR M92 CONVERSION:

Thanks @Frank_fjs for poking me. I was so excited at the time, I forgot to change it up.

Hey thanks so much for putting this together! Looking forward to converting my Major Title 2. I have two questions for you:
  1. Are the file names for L1 and L0 supposed to be ITH-L1-B and ITH-L0-D, respectively? (I think the letters were mixed up in your posting.)
  2. Can I use the USA files for this conversion, (different H0, H1, L0, and L1 files) and does using the USA files affect which jumpers are used?
Thanks again for your guide!

You don't need to change jumpers for region swaps.

Help I must converting my Major Title 2 to In the Hunt.
How can i get the sound roms SH0 and SL0 I don't know how to get @Apocalypse.
Thanks.

Very nice work !
I tried this conversion from Major Title 2 and after some mistakes I finally succeeded and I wish to share my experience if it can help.

I used the roms from In the Hunt (World) and the following :
- 2x M27C512 (for SH0, SL0) - to patch to decrypt the sound roms
- 4x M27C801 (for 000, 010, 020, 030)
- 4x M27C2001 (for h0-d, h1-b, l0-d, l1-b) - don't forget to double h1-b and l1-b !
- 5x M27C4001 (for DA, C0, C1, C2, C3)

I set the jumpers to :
J1 : N - 2&3
J6 : N -1&2
J8 : 4M - 1&2
J15 : 0T - 2&3
J16 : 4S - 2&3

First, I got H1 G1 rom error because I don't double the first time h1-b and l1-b...
Next step was a H1 error, and this has been fixed by reprogrammaning h1-b.

Thank you for sharing your work.
