It is what is commonly known as the Blast City I/O board, so in terms of wiring and functionality the readily available blast city manual will have the wiring diagram (given the lack of megalo 410 documentation).
I've gone with a cheaper short throw now only USD$200 with near enough the same brightness and contrast ratio. Only downside is that is has a fixed lens (hence it being much cheaper) but I don't see that being an issue just not as easy to setup.
The Trapezoid mirror isn't a major issue you can always cut a second mirror, you'll just need to get a second mount made (copy the one you have easy enough). This

is much better than playing games in the wrong aspect ratio on essentially a TV (IMO)

nah that's the Italian guy using the MW612ST.
I was gonna message you saying I bought one but decided to hold off till I tested it otherwise its kinda moot and you'd only waste time looking into it. BenQ MX819ST, estimated delivery is 2 weeks from the US to Aus, eurgh. We'll see how it is when it turns up.
What's also interesting is that my two megalo's actually have different mirror mounting arrangements. The gutted one I bought had a broken mirror, there was various shards of mirror inside it still and while I couldn't find a glass mirror the same thickness (was like 3 or 4mm) I bought a generic one and cut it to the shape of the mounting frame.
Anyway, my semi working Virtua Tennis one, the mirror in that appears to be acrylic, it's half the weight, the mirror flexes when pressed from the rear and the mounting frame is different. So in short I probably could of just bought an acrylic mirror, would of been way easier to cut.

Projector mounting not final hence image not being centred and properly sized but behold! System 256 on BenQ MX819ST. No optical zoom so more of a pain to position but half the price of the MW632ST.

OMG very nice. What are you using for projection screen and what are the dimensions of the projection. I may start to build mine. Are you projecting on the rear mirror then on the screen or directly on the screen?

Its the cab from post #28 (the one that isn't Virtua Tennis 2). It had a shattered mirror when I received it so I bought a mirror from hardware store and cut it to size.
Still retains the fresnel lens, not sure what you mean by dimensions of projection, the Megolo 410 has a 41" screen in 4:3. I just manoeuvred the projector into position until the image filled the screen.

Do you think it is possible to make a reproduction fresnel lens for the megalo? It seems to me that it give better picture. If yes what specs and measurements should it have?

Possible to make a reproduction fresnel lens as a DIY'er? not a chance, I don't know where you would even buy one from. Why bother though, i've linked multiple times now to the guy who restored a super megalo using rear projection fabric.
Specs and measurements? specs of what? As for size its a 41" 4:3 screen, just punch that into a calculator and it'll give you your dimensions, or perhaps measure one of the two cabs you own?

I think what he is saying is balance a projector against your mirror facing up and fill the screen from behind.
The mystery is the throw distance of the projector. The angles can be fixed through keystone.
Here is a cheap fabric from eBay in 99” thick. 5’ should do both screens.

If you wanna be a pimp get glass cut and stretch the material behind the bezel.

I'm curious actually if that fabric would actually be an improvement over the fresnel anyway.
There is no mystery over the projector throw, this has already been done with a MW612ST or similar model all the specs are on projector central and likewise I just did it with a MX819ST. Be much easier with the MW model as optical zoom reduces the number of manual adjustment required.

Hey all. Bumping this thread. I'm gonna be redoing my Megalo 410 the proper way finally. Excited about it. Ordering the stuff Hoagtech linked this friday for my screen. I need to put a mirror in there, then buy a projector, anyone have the proper measurements for a mirror so it can be as original as possible? I also need to fully restore this to jamma. It's been running a DC set up for ages. It's fully playable, but eh, it's not right, and that LCD tossed in there running VGA DC has lived its course.. Here is my 410:

Kazanova225, thanks a bunch! I got this cabinet in rough shape and took it apart and cleaned it up. Megalo 410's are such cool cabinets. It is my favorite design for a larger screen cab as it gets right to the point. I need to source the marquee though, mine didn't have one.
