Just curious how common these boards are. Are they still susceptible to the suicide battery and have the the same resolution?
 
They're pretty common in Mexico and Japan. Yes they still have a suicide battery and in order to change it you have to have the board powered on. The best option IMO is to put an infinikey in it and never mess with a battery again.

Nope, removing the battery without the board connected to a power source at the JAMMA edge results in instant, CPS3-style death.

Fortunately, the security keys can be reloaded using the six-pin connector, like with rev. 7 plastic cased B-boards.

The issue I’ve seen with the black metal case boards is that if they’re compressed when being handled or stored, the battery pins on underside of the PCB can short on the metal case, which kills the keys.
