I have a Midway Open Ice board that shows green on the check screen screen, but which produces only buzzing noises during gameplay. It seems this is often a -5v issue, and I checked that and am good on that front. I also get a CMOS error upon boot and am unable to perform a factory reset in the options due to this. Any ideas for next steps?

For the CMOS:
Remove the battery holder and check for bad tracks underneath.
Also check the tracks / soldering on u49, replace u49 if all looks good.

The sound section is digitally controlled so you need to fix the CMOS first.

Do all work with the battery out so you don't short anything.

When testing the chip with the battery out use the reset button on the PCB (don't power off) after save / run and reset it should boot with a OK if the chip / cmos good.

Wanted to stop back and say thanks. I replaced the battery holder and all returned to normal. Much appreciate the advice. On to the next board.
