Hey all,

Super newb here and I just got my first CPS3 board in today! Everything looks in pretty decent shape but when I flipped the board over I noticed something. I'd never seen pics of the bottom of a CPS3 board so I wasn't sure what to expect.

I found this tiny PCB wired up. I tried to do some googling but to no avail and couldn't find out what it really is.

So can anyone answer the following?

1) Is this something that comes stock?

2) Either way (for curiosity's sake) what does it do?

Thanks ahead of time for any help!

That's normal, and certain versions of the CPS3 have this from the factory.

the LS08 chip is a simple AND gate, no idea what it's used for in this context though

Rocket sauce.

Thanks for the quick answer!

Can't wait to get the SIMMs and everything else in for this project :D
