Hi there,

It's been awhile since I've posted a JAMMA modification project, but here it is :)
I recently got the wonderful After Burner arcade PCB. I was aiming for the entire arcade cabin but could not get it.
Regardles, I've made a JAMMA harness that will allow you to play After Burner on your Supergun.
I will have to say that you will need a potentiometer based controller to play with it as it requires a 5K ohm potentiometers to allow control of the jet.
I bought a 5K ohm joystick from ebay : https://www.ebay.com/itm/Joystick-P...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649, and got into a carft project with my daughter in designing the case for it (made from cartboard).

The filterboard (which i got along with the PCB has 3 connection ports that will be used:
  1. 20P - for sound, video and steering
  2. 10P - for powering the PCB
  3. 25P - for additional controls
The chart shows the port on the filterboard, each pin function, my color code of wires. You should pay attention the the DB15 column that shows you the conversion to the DB15 controller port. On the same chart there is a diagram of the DB15 port (NeoGeo based) that was provided by RETROELECTRONIK, the manufacturer of my supergun.

For wiring connections, I'm using the Du-Pont connetcor crimps for a solderless environment, and they are working great.

Check the attachments for the picture of the filter board connetctions, and charts for wiring and the controller.

Feel free to ask questions 8)

@Matan there is also a trick where you use a RC filter to build a charge from digital inputs.
Of course it's not as good as real analog controls but it's good enough to beat the game and you can play in any JAMMA cabinet with sticks.

That sounds great. I did not know about it. Can you send a sample of such work? (video or text)
