Taito Stunt Typhoon dead hard drive

Hi, i've just got a Taito stunt typhoo, just in and its not to bad of a state, apart from it's got a completely dead hard drive in it. I've check all the voltages going to HD and that all fine.
so my plan is to replace the IDE HD but i don't think i can copy the info of the HD. Is there are where i can get the game software from? or has have one else had this issue and know the best way to fix it?

any help would be great

Unfortunately, it won't be that simple. The game is tied to the harddrive and since the harddrive is dead, you're going to need something else that just a copy of the game software.

Also, there's an updated version of the game in Mame (Stunt Typhoon Plus). Might as well ask if you can upgrade to that.

I can second Andy Geezer's services here. Since only "Stunt Typhoon Plus" is in MAME, you'll have to upgrade to that. Andy will hook you up with a DOM module that will emulate a real IDE hard drive. More importantly, he will patch out the serial number check.
