PGM shmups in horizontal classic tv

Not ideal but I made up a DB15 to DB15 adapter that rotates the stick input 90 degrees for vertical titles. The game still runs horizontal but now the controller matches the movements.

Another option is to get the correct size covers and build your own adapters, see link below.I've just swapped my grey covers above to the new black covers below, much nicer.
