Hello !

This is my first Sega machine and i have some issues i need to solve.
I'm using the Jammafier from Irken labs and i can't get the machine to coin up.I have tried both service buttons 1 & 2 under the monitor and the microswitch for the coin mech but no luck.
I can hear a "click" sound when i try the microswitch but it doesen't coin up.

I also have a Solar Assault board i only get sound/attract mode but no picture.Only "no signal " on the screen.
I tried my Salamander board and that works fine.
I have the Thoshiba D29C051 monitor so the Solar Assault pcb should would work.
All help greatly appreciated :P

For the buttons, make sure the USB style JVS cable is plugged into the correct USB Port on the Jammifier. It is the one labeled JVS.

the usb cable is connected to the JVS putput.

that looks good. It also recognized the I/O of your cab.

Easy one first, on the Jammafier - navigate to the JVS test screen https://irkenlabs.com/jammafier/operation
It has SE1, SE2 and TST - service1, service2 and test. These should get highlighted when you press them, if they don't you have an IO-board or cabinet issue.

For the Solar Assault video issue, I have no real idea - I've heard that the video may not come via the jamma edge. Point is half-moot anyway, as I think you will need analog joysticks for that game.

Ok.Here's a video of the Jammafier upon power up.Didn't see anything message regarding regarding "I/O board found on the OLED so mabye that's the problem.

Also included some pics of the I/O board.

The IO board is found ok, the jVS test shows your problem (presumably).

The IO board shows that service 2, and player 2 button 1 & 6 is pressed (which I presume is wrong) - either the IO board has a fault or possibly something with the wiring towards the IO (not the USB cable..).

The only button that works is Degauss.
Nothing happenes when i press Test,Service 1 or Service 2.

The IO board believes P2 button 1 and 6 + service 2 is pressed. If you keep the Jammafier in the screen shown in the pic above, it should respond to other input.

Tested the joysticks and buttons + test and service 1 and that looks ok.
The only button that shows pressed on the Jammafier now is service 2 for some reason.

Unfortunately, since Jamma only has 1 service input, both JVS service buttons are mapped to Jamma service - so the Jammafier will keep service 'pressed' until both are released.

Ok.Now i need to figure out why it shows 'pressed'
It's not like it's stuck when i press it.
It presses just like the other buttons.

I would start by removing the buttons on the control panel and give them a good alcohol clean. Check the soldering, continuity with a multimeter etc. Maybe service 2 button is just stuck?

I would also check your wire harness. Based on the pictures it looks like a lot of spliced cables.
