Hello,
I'm happy because after months to search a Vewlix bargain, it is finally happen !
Tomorrow, i'll be a Vewlix owner !!!! :)

I'm in a hurry to discover it.
Will it smell smoke ?
Will it look yellowish ?
Will it be in a 'mint used' condition ? :)

Anwsers tomorrow...

You're in good hands! France has a surprising amount of parts vendors (panel replacements, harnesses) for Vewlix cabs. I chalk it up to superior taste

Delivered !!
I'm like a kid at Christmas :)
First look, it was better than i expected. Some scratches, a bit yellowish but no smell of smoke which is a very good point.
The control panel is not the real vewlix F. It seems to be a standard vewlix L panel but i'm not sure.
I'm not a huge fan of green stick and buttons ;)

I'll install it in the house just after lunch and have a look closer...

I notice that the screen is a SANWA T32H075(KA). Is it a 1080p screen ?
In the site hard candy (https://www.hard--candy.com/candy/Vewlix_F), i saw '-Sanwa T32H075 (KA) LCD screen for maximum 1080p resolution (compared to 720p for the model L)'
but on the flyer2 it's not an hd res :

So,i'm looking for the screen manual to confirm the resolution but not found yet...

What do you think ? HD or not ???

Congrats man!
I see that we have used the same supplier :)

Hello manicshere !
Your link doesn't work. Is this a picture of your cab ? (i hope so ! :) )
Is the supplier begins with a R ?

What parts are you waiting for ?

Fixed the link. It's just showing a cardboard box :P
It's the same guy, yes.

For progress on my cab, check out my post here!

Although I've been researching and reading up on the Vewlix for years before getting one, I still have so much to learn.

Nope 1360x768 max native rez.
If the screen quality is too low for me, i'll plan to replace it by a full HD.
Now, i can't say if it's neccesary because i don't receive my stepdown yet...
Replace the lcd screen isn't my first priority.

I know that a used cab couldn't be perfect. So, It's the case. :) There are some minor defaults :

1. the screen (or protective glass) has a weird wavy shape :
I hope this will be invisible on game.

2. There are marks in the plastic. It seems to be due to stickers ?...
Rub with water don't work to erase them.

3. A scratch in the control panel

Inside the cab, it's surprisingly clean.
I didn't even have to clean up the dust. Awesome !

You choose a rolls ! Is it an hd screen ? I also search a vewlix for a long time (months in my case) and i'm really happy to have a deal this year !
If you want, i will be available on the forum (or MP) to share my small vewlix knowlegde. I'll have a look on your topic.

I had the same wavey gunk on my screen. It is most likely on the inside of the protestive glass and is not a screen issue. Fairly easy to get to, just a lot of tiny screws on the bezel, and should come off with a little 409 or windex.

I received my stepdown transformer and was hurry to test the vewlix with my x360.

And, it works !! The dust in the screen are almost invisible in game.
I can only see it on a full white screen. In this case, it's really dirt.

I ordered some stuff from my beloved arcade shop (stick, buttons, brook fighting board) I don't like green stick and buttons.

I also found this in the cab. Is it a vewlix screw ?

MY NEXT PRIORITY : buying silent fans

Could you advise some compatible vewlix fans ?
Thanks

Thanks
Control panel screw. When you flip the joystick front panel toward you there should be one in either side to prevent the rear panel from opening away from you.

Yup control panel, for the rear portion/panel specifically...
They (two total, one on each side) are indented to be a "hand tighten" or thumb screws, the Philips indentation is to help you remove it should it become stuck (NOT to tighten it down).
The reason for this is to allow for easier access to the move strip area/changing out artwork quickly.

The Diamond line unfortunately has the additional step of removing the back holding bracket before the art is accessible.
On F, C, L, L-AMI (aka classic line) you instead remove the chrome side clips and top glass (which is a waaaay better system/design, Diamond got cheap/feature reductions).

It is here ? When i got the cab, there are another screws in this place.

I received my order ! Thank you for candies !

Ok, so i have to remove some cables because i don't need anymore with the UFB.
IMG_1830.jpg

I also clean a bit inside the panel to find the right place for UFB.

I have a look to replace the stick but there is an issue with holes. Why only two holes ???
Fortunately, i ordered a mounting plate.
For now, i let the old stick because i'm waiting for a panel delivery.
I replace only the stick ball and the buttons.

No more time for wiring so this is how it looks without the stick and green buttons : It's better to my taste !
