    • @jassin000 yes like the dreamcast it's an arcade powerhouse + goodies, so definitely a top tier console

You are right for c-sync, there's a mod to make to swap 9V/csync on pin 1.

I think if someone has to choose, better avoid pal, but it's possible to make them equal in case it's already there.
Any Multi MVS bug ? Before asking delete BUFF FILE on the SD card and Reset NVRAM procedure : Power on without cart, Press Start multiple times until it asks to press ABC + Start, Do it, Power off > Done
    • Hey all, so I got a rhea and did the install correctly (I think anyways, took the disc unit out, attached the rhea with the 2 wires into a 3d tray). I also downloaded a pack of files that is rhea compliant format wise, so I guess all the images and such are in their proper format, it also has Rmenu stuff in folder one with the rest of the games distributed in folder 2 and beyond.

I used a 256gb sandisc card and fomartted it using the minitool program posted in the original post using the fat32/64k/etc stuff. I did hit apply as well so I didn't miss that step..

Problem is, when I put the SD card in, the light turns on with the rhea for about a quarter second, turns off, then goes to the normal saturn cd player menu saying no disc is present. I'm trying to figure this all out because I don't know if it's a broken rhea, an incorrect install on my end, or some incompatibility with the cards or method i'm using to format them. I have so far tried 256gb and a 64gb card, but both formatted using the tool and parameters in the original post.. Is there any steps I missed or should be trying to troubleshoot? I have already put good money into all this and am wary on just buying random cards hoping the thing will work since that assumes I didn't make any mistakes. Any help would be extremely appreciated!

Officially the largest cards supported are 32GB, now often times cards of larger size will work IF you format them FAT32 (using a tool like Mini Partition Wizard for example)...
However this is always hit/miss, and can't be counted on to work 100% of the time.

If this is a new setup and you want to ensure you have the hardware correct I'd use the recommended/supported size before trying to jump into 256gb sized cards.
For reference I've had success with 64GB Samsung EVO+ cards, but I've never used anything larger (I don't really feel the need, Saturn hasn't got that many good games).

Don't forget you have to run the "RMENU.exe" file to build/re-build the menu ISO image after placing your games into numbered folders, or it will not function correctly/at all.

You know, I don't believe RMenu supports more than 99 folders/images... So I don't know what you hope to accomplish with a 256gb SD card.
I've got like 60 folders with just a 64GB, so you'll max out long before using all that space. *shrug*

If anyone is interested, I'm currently uploading a 18gb Super SD System 3 (designed for a 32gb) SD card pack to Archive.org right now.

You know, I don't believe RMenu supports more than 99 folders/images... So I don't know what you hope to accomplish with a 256gb SD card.
I've got like 60 folders with just a 64GB, so you'll max out long before using all that space. *shrug*
LOL I just uploaded #97 and #98 games onto my SD card (the Command & Conquer port that has 2 discs). I think I'm about done now. :D

Yea man and what size SD card are you using?
I just don't understand these "I need 4TB in my Saturn!" guys... What the FUCK for? You'll NEVER use it!

032GB = More than most will ever need
064GB = Should just about max out
128GB = Over kill, but in case you didn't hit max/99 folders with 64GB and want that last extra
      256GB = Totally pointless
      512GB = See above

I got a 64GB Sony class 10 SDXC card, and I'm only using 48GB on it. It's defintely not close to maxed out, I can fit another 20-30 games on this thing!

But yeah, anything over 64GB is completely overkill, unless you want the complete complete set of games on it. Which I always find silly. Why copy a bunch of games to your card if you're not going to play them? There's a lot of crap games in a full library.
    • I'm really happy with my 64GB cards, I've got 'em in Saturn/Playstation/Dreamcast (Rhea/PSIO/GDEmu).
Holds all that I feel is relevant in the library.

Dreamcast is the only one that IF I didn't also own a Naomi, I'd prob want a 128GB in it.

    • So after reading Jassin's post I decided to pull out an 8GB card to attempt this, it did not work :( My exact steps were..

Click format the 8gb card, fat32, 64k, pimary, then apply.
I then put folder 1 (which contains Rmenu), and then 2 additional folders in which contained 2 games in the proper setup.

I clicked Rmenu and all it does is run through the names of the games and ask if I want to change them, I say no since they are correct.

Then I place it in the rhea, get a brief orange light, and it boots to the cd player with disc drive empty displayed. Here are a few pics.

Again any advice is greatly appreciated, i'm not the most proficient here but I really wanna dive into stuff, especially imports since I only have US games I personally own.

    • You should be getting the RMenu, so I'm not totally sure... I do see (in a screen shot) you have a game in CCD format, remember Saturn games need to be in CDI format (and named disc.cdi to work with RMenu).

      SD:\01\rmenu.iso
      SD:\02\disc.cdi
      SD:\03\disc.cdi

Despite that though, I should still be taken to some kind of menu right? I'm really at my wits end here as I have never once gotten passed this stage. The files I downloaded were found here and took like, 4 days to download.

Is there something I might have done wrong in the installation? I notice there are 2 wires but I recall reading the smaller wire was not needed. The orientation of the flat cable looks right as well so I don't know what else I could have messed up.

Right, as long as you have RMenu.iso in folder 01 it should boot that image first... Even if all other games are wrong.
You could just put a CDI formatted game in folder 01, it should boot that too.
