Pinned How To Use GD-EMU Rhea and Phoebe (Card Selection, Formatting, and formatting Images)

    • Oh, and I don't know if this has been updated, but all the files in the image folders are named disc.xxx. This might have changed from earlier firmwares, but every folder the files need to be named disc. Doesn't matter if it's an .cdd, .bin, whatever. It's all named disc.cdd, disc.bin, disc.cdi...
    • I can upload a image suitable for a 32GB SD card (smallest most compatible size) as a *.IMG if you like.
That way it can't possibly be "screwed up" simply flash the image to the SD card (32GB min) of your choice with win32diskimager.

If a larger sized card is used, that's also ok... Use MiniTool Partition Wizard to resize/expand the existing FAT32 partition.
Sorry but I just ran the numbers and we save like 10GB by releasing this as files 7z'd vs a SD card file sys image 7z'd.
Its STILL going to be huge, so it will take me days to upload it (assuming Archive.org will even accept something of this size?)
      Splitting into chunks...

So thanks to your post earlier I realized I did not need to have the folders in a folder called SDCARDROOT as I misread, and was able to boot Rmenu and Albert Odyssey for the first time! They work at least out of the gate which is great.

So, does that mean I don't have to worry about renaming the files? And lastly hopefully, they are not in CDI format like suggested, is that going to cause me grief?

Edit: Oh I guess I can ask though this may be beyond the scope, I bought one of those newer AR kind of carts that have the 1meg/4meg/etc switches on it, and it runs Pseudo Saturn. They say it can run rhea titles through the Pseudo Saturn menu, which seems to be true but they also claimed the menu is better. I've only been able to load whatever is in folder one through that menu though, so it loading Rmenu is the only way to get it to work on my end.

oh good, so that has changed from the old firmware. Great! No need to rename the files if it’s all working.

you can use cdi or raw rips. It doesn’t matter other than file sizes being different.
I have a mix and was still able to fit nearly 100 games on my SD card.
    • I only use CDI because that's what the inventor of the device said we should use.
Sure other formats work, but my OCD mind won't let me live with a mix... "Their can be only one (format)!"

BTW I've got 50% of the Saturn collection uploaded to Archive.org, should have it finished by tomorrow.

Sounds great, upon further assessment I think I can get away with a 128gb card and still hold the bulk of the library i'd be interested in so I picked one of those up and a set of new batteries for the thing. Just sifting through imports and such to determine what i'd like.

I do hope the satiator comes to pass with little issue as I actually have a second Saturn on a different setup that would benefit, I really like the system since it feels kind of like a lost relic filled with weird quirks and such. I hope if things like the satiator work out it will embolden fans to do more translations and such since it would become a lot more practical for the end users to experience it.
    • I also included stuff like NBA Jam TE (yea the Saturn is the best port outside of the arcade) and Tempest 2000 (best port outside of the Atari Jag).

The only reason I'd say the Jaguar version is better is because you can mod a spinner into the controller.

Any Tempest without a spinner just doesn't satisfy the Highlander rule. ;)

Very cool upload, it has a few things the other pack didn't.
Thanks, I tried to get both whats popular AND what I hadn't really seen around before (but also good).

I'm working on uploading my TG16/PCEngine Super SD System 3 Collection right now (again, I temporary put it on hold so Saturn could take priority/finish).
Should be uploaded/completed by tomorrow!

      What should I do next?
      • SegaCD - Mega SD
      • Playstation - PSIO
      • Dreamcast - GDEmu
They are ALL equally large/designed to fit on 64GB SD cards. :/

P.S. The "first half" of the original TG16/Bonk commercial I turned into a GIF (just thought it came out good) for Archive.org.

Well thats the problem with Naomi... You need to have different JVS IOs to support the different types of games for it.
I don't have a driving, analog or a shooting IO, so I don't stock any of these games on my SD card.

I'm sure 90% of the people using Net DIMM setups only care about joystick compatible games.
heck most of them probably only care about CAPCOM IO compatible games.

      Yup, that's me! :D
I'm only running a Capcom IO right now. I will eventually get an IO that works with my World Series Baseball panel. But that'll be later. My panel needs some restoration first.
