i got a great working board
with no guns...
tried googling with no luck
are there any good known cheap replacement or home console guns that can be converted?

You can use any of the standard light guns with it. Probably the Happ 45 style guns are the most common replacement.

Do you have a cabinet for it? That's probably one of the bigger deciders what guns to get... You'll want something that fits the holsters on the cabinet.

I saw the happ alternative its more than I wanted to spend on this...
tried connecting an nes zapper and it didn't work.
no cabinet just 29 sony crt

either use a 74ls04 or 74hct04 chip, or try bypassing that transistor on the output.
