Came across an ST-V cart for sale on YAJ that I'd never seen
<link removed>

The label translates to CHORO Q HYPER RACING 5

I managed to find some pictures of the machine: http://ameblo.jp/leotuneq/entry-10786836196.html

it has a CRT and 4 players.
each player has a grid of 9 buttons each with a 7-segment display and then a large button. I have no idea how this game is supposed to be played lol

There's no mention of this game in MAME and I'd never heard of it before so I figured I'd share. for anyone who might be interested in such a rarity.

Wow. How much do they want for it?

Just the cart is for sale, it's currently at ~$10 with no bids and 5 days remaining.

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if this ends with 0 bids, or if someone wins it on a minimum bid only. (of course this thread could also change that :P)

I'd like to see someone familiar with ST-V hardware and capable of ripping the data buy this to document the cart hardware and dump the ROMs for MAME/the multi cart. That person is not me.

If it's undumped I think we should get it. I'll bid if you want.

It is included on the "undumped" list for MAME: http://mamedev.emulab.it/undumped/index.php?title=Undumped

There also doesn't seem to be any mention of it in the ST-V Mame driver: https://github.com/mamedev/mame/blob/master/src/mame/drivers/stv.cpp

That's not to say there isn't a dump somewhere else.

I'd be willing to put in a minimum bid if no one else is interested, but I'm terrible at surface mount stuff and I'm not equipped to rip anything but socketed ROMs, so I'd be shipping this off to someone else anyway.

Searching around there seems to be a Wiki for the franchise: http://choroq.wikia.com/wiki/Choro_Q_Wiki

Apparently there were home releases for "Choro Q" though I don't know how similar they are to the arcade version.

I think the best you can do is contact Guru or rtw to get it dumped. Once dumped I can convert it for the multi if you want.

Nice find

You guys going for it? I am sure no one else will probably bid on it. Maybe Guru or RTW will go for it.

I think that posting YAJ rare items, in enthusiast forums, before the auction ends, should be punisheable with the most painful possible death.

Some of the best bits of my collection I got because someone saw an interesting/uncommon item and posted it up in a forum.

This isn't exactly some rare/highly sought-after prototype. Stuff like that I'd keep to myself, or if I know someone else specifically looking for it I'll PM them instead of posting publicly.

if no one else expresses interest in it I'll bid. in the mean time I'll ask around and see if it's really needed.

I'd spotted that cart too - I'll hold off bidding if it's being picked up by the "community".

if need be i can pitch in a few $$$ so it get put in mame

Is this game on the Multi Cart?

Tant R 2

ebay.com/itm/Tant-R-2-STV-Cart…e3b43f:g:7YQAAOSw~bFWLFlD

Is this Taisen Tanto-R 'Sasissu!' / DaeJeon! SanJeonSuJeon
yes, Tanto-R is on the Multi-cart, that game is quite common.

How high should I go on this? Someone else caught wind and began bidding today, the last day. It's at around $100 already.
