UPDATED BY DARKSOFT ON 5th June 2023
New Firmware release! Yes! We still keep adding support for old multis like this one.
This update fixes the problem with not original or slow microSD and also the problem with MicroSD written in a Mac.
You can download it here: https://www.mediafire.com/file/0h334vtwh8fnjko/CPS2_Original_Version_Long_Pins.7z/file
IMPORTANT! This firmware is only to be used with the old version with long pins. DO NOT USE with Champion Edition!!

You can get the download instructions v3.2 from here: http://www.mediafire.com/file/obv4fflp48fmq2m/Instructions_CPS2_Multi_Boot_v3.2.pdf/file

One of the features of this Multigame is the possitbilty of updating the firmware automatically, what we call....AUTOUPDATE! also called BOOTLOADER. This will allow you to upgrade the firmware by just copying a file in the microSD and without needing any device or complicated procedures.

You just need to copy a file called flash.img into the microSD and power it on, it will update a specific part of the microprocessor memory and will work now with all improved capabilities.

Make sure you also watch the video from Mitsu about how to prepare the B board before doing anything.

You can find a Roll-Up Pack with all available games from Smokemonster here: CPS2 Roll-Up Packs: All roms for the CPS2 kit

OLD UPDATES. KEPT HERE FOR INFORMATION ONLY
You also have a dedicated thread to this firmware here:
New CPS2 Multigame Firmware with Key Writing!!!!!!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE PINS:

High pins are BBS-132-T-C from SAMTEC; They can be bough i.e. from here: https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Samtec/BBS-132-T-C?qs=0lQeLiL1qyarkSqHAN79VA==&mgh=1&vip=1

Low pins for program ROM PCB were bought from HK Kemei Electronics and the part number is KM1004. However, minimum order is *sigh* 1000 units.

Should you need to replace the microSD card slot on your kit pcb this is the proper replacement:

Buttons for the LCD Display can be bought from here:

Not sure if there was a trained dimahoo, but here's one attached now. :)
Tested & working in MAME. Patched out checks for >1 from $928A8B to $928A92 which happens to hold 0301 in ram and that works for the game.

6D 4A 8A 0A changed to 6D 4A 92 0A

If some other versions/regions need to be changed, the changes are at :

2EF5C
2EdE4
2F22E
2A152
2EE0E
2A152
2F06C

Any other games with cool stuff to enable like this?

I'll test it out later! Which region is this one?

This is 000121 USA as a a base, but a single byte patch to change region is possible offcourse :)

Any chance we could get a monthly rollup of these rom changes?

Also, wasn't there a dimahoo rom with the extra ships already unlocked?
Yup, I put one together after it was requested on the shmups forum a while back.

http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=52430&p=1081571&hilit=dimahoo+patch#p1081571

It's just one instruction that's patched to enable the extra characters. I used the team avalaunch decrypted rom as a base too, but this was before the CPS2 multi and I didn't make an .02 file ready to go for it.

Neo told me that SF zero 3 has several play mode and characters, unlocked with elapsed timer or with code entry in service mode. (Dramatic battle?)

Has there been any progress with the D&D games or is that dead in the water right now?

Yep, unlock balrog/juli/juni with a raging demon input on the input test screen, and then the other modes using more complicated inputs on other test screens. Would be nice to have a rom with it all unlocked from the start...

Thanks to DogP on arcade museum.

That turned out nice. I need to get somebody to print one up for me here.

Here some important info about the Pins.

@Mitsu, please post in the main thread:
