After some minor testing with Mario Kart GP2, WMMT2 and WMMT3 on a WMMT1 cab, I was able to get all three games to work with the same Namco FFB board I have. I noticed that there are multiple versions of the Namco FFB board. The one I have is labeled as "V315 STR PCB". IC16 has a label with "WMM 1 STR-0A" on it which leads me to assume this PCB was configured to work with WMMT1.
I have seen other boards labeled with "V275 STR PCB" but not sure if it's an older firmware on these chips or what.
There is a component "SW2" on the PCB with 4 switches:
WMMT2:
1: OFF
2: OFF
3: OFF
4: ON
WMMT3:
1: OFF
2: OFF
3: OFF
4: ON
Mario Kart GP 2:
1: OFF
2: OFF
3: OFF
4: OFF
I was only able to test with games I have.
Edit:
@winteriscoming and @Dion were able to confirm that SW2 controls the baud rate for the game so this lines up with what I have above in the WMMT/ID Emulator conversation.
