Hello everyone,

As usual, when I receive a new motherboard I search the security key number.
I receive one (non-functional), whose number is 253-5508-0620
On this page https://github.com/mamedev/mame/blob/master/src/mame/drivers/lindbergh.cpp, it says:

Initial D Arcade Stage 4 253-5508-0620 317-0620-COM DVP-0019
Initial D Arcade Stage 4 (rev A) 253-5508-0620 317-0620-COM DVP-0019A
Initial D Arcade Stage 4 (rev B) 253-5508-0620 317-0620-COM DVP-0019B
Initial D Arcade Stage 4 (rev C) 253-5508-0620 317-0620-COM ^DVP-0019C
Initial D Arcade Stage 4 (rev D) 253-5508-0620 317-0620-COM DVP-0019D
Initial D Arcade Stage 4 (rev G) 253-5508-0620 317-0620-COM DVP-0019G
Initial D4 253-5508-0486E 317-0486-COM DVP-0030
Initial D4 (rev B) 253-5508-0486E 317-0486-COM DVP-0030B
Initial D4 (rev C) 253-5508-0486E 317-0486-COM ^DVP-0030C
Initial D4 (rev D) 253-5508-0486E 317-0486-COM ^DVP-0030D
Initial D Arcade Stage 5 (rev A) ? ? DVP-0070A
Initial D Arcade Stage 5 EXP 2.0 ? ? DVP-0075

I'm happy ... I test with my DVD (a little scratched), on an export motherboard.

it does not work

I try with another version

it still does not work

I take it to store my security key ... I realize that I have a lot of it. It's amazing !

We often see DVDs without key on ebay or Yahoo Auction ... I really wonder if the information that cirulate are reliable

What do you think ?

Scroll down a few posts, I made a huge list.
The only 0620 I've seen was linked to Sengokushi Taisen3

Just thought I would share the data I have, I did not realize there were differences in the keys, let alone the associated DVDs for ID4.

In comparing with @el_ninos pics:

Initial D 4 (shown as Initial D 4 Version 1.5):
DVD: DVD-0030D <= Same
Key: 253-5508-486E <= Same

頭文字D Arcade Stage 4 (shown as Initial D 4 Server V 1.0):
DVD: DVP-0019A
Key: 253-5508-0466J
ID4.jpg

I figure there ARE differences in keys when a new update comes out but didn't realize how different the keys can be.

The differences come from the fact that one is ARCADE stage and the other regular InitialD. Afaik all versions of InitialD 4 come with the same keychip and all versions of ID Arcade Stage 4 come with the same keychip.

This makes more sense. Thanks!

(I am suddenly having a Brain Fart. In what universe is there an 'Initial D 4' game that is NOT Arcade Stage?)

This particular DVD I have installs as a server instance, probably due to the keychip.
