I recently ordered a couple connectors to connected a 24V power supply to a card reader. To closely replicate an existing connector I thought I had matched up the proper P/N but the dimensions are not the same.

I ordered a JST VLR-04V and JST VLP-04V connector.

However, the existing connectors I have are slightly smaller.

Would someone be able to help me identify the Part Number for the smaller version of the VLR-04V/VLP-04V connectors?

For reference, this is off of a SEGA Initial D Stage 5 Card reader 24V power harness.

Want to say it's the YL series from memory. I can check when I get off work.

Ok thanks!

I don't see any visible difference between the YLR-04V and YLR-04VF. Except maybe the clips on the top and bottom of the 04V.

I wonder why the VLR and the YLR connectors are identical except for the dimensions...

Sucks that I can't buy any without minimum order of 71+ (or live in the UK).

One more thing, what is the corresponding PIN connector type for the YLP-0#V connector?

I ordered directly from JST as suggested by Derick to me a while back, and it was very quick. https://order.jst-mfg.com/InternetS...tedPage=mainContent&countryId=840&language=en

Connector specs: http://www.jst-mfg.com/product/pdf/eng/eYL.pdf

The PDF above lists the pins/contacts for the sizes wires you are using. I definitely am using YLP-04V to the existing original YLR-04V on my ID5-8 card reader. I will say that I have no idea if they changed the connectors during any of the 5-8 versions, and I really don't know what version exactly my reader is from.

Cool thanks! The connectors are the same. Some connectors are tin. Others are plated. I will order directly. :)

Hmm weird, just clicked link on phone and it downloads the PDF. Ylr-04v lets you order 10 pieces, and the last time I ordered ylp I got 10 and gave my friends the rest. Try emailing them and I will ask my friends if they never used or have extra.

I've ordered LOTS of stuff directly from JST and I've never had to order more than 10 pc of anything.

Octopart lists several online stores that have this in stock as well:

Yep, i tried Octopart first.

Helind mininum order was $75 so I may go there if I find $75 worth of additional items to buy.
ICC was down yesterday for me so I'll try today hopefully no minimum order requirement.
Chip One Stop requires creating an account so I put this at the bottom of my list but may buy from here to test them out as a parts seller in the future.

I'll try JST again to see if I can order 10.

Thanks!
