Any experienced dumpers in the Chicago area ?

Is there any experienced dumper at the Chicago are.
The dumping union needs help in dumping a rare game.

The owner requires that you appear at his house/flat
because he will not ship it anywhere.

Gas money compensation can be arranged

It might help if you could tell what needs to be dumped.
Reading out a bunch of eproms is a different job than copiing a harddisk.

And, while most eprom programmers can handle 2764 types and up, not all can handle 2708 and 2716

The dumping has been postponed, the owner will not allow us to desolder ROMs so we have to go back to the drawing table.

LOL. I guess he expected the chips to e dumped through osmosis?

We have dumped soldered ships by using an ICE and then doing a vector over the ROM range not exactly osmosis but it requires a lot of kit.

I can understand the owners trepidation if it's an older board, even more so if it's a prototype or 1 of 1 - it's nice that he's offering to allow for it to be dumped but unfortunately that can mean destruction of the board as well.

If I was the owner of such a board I'd hold onto it until a non destructive method could be found, it's hard because it may die in the meantime and it being dumped is for the benefit of the community as a whole, but it's a tough call either way.
