What's new
Nice examples of PSUs. I was planning on using a happ, but now seeing PSUs I didn't know about will have to rethink. Excited to finally get a HAS and save some room vs my current setup.

i have several HAS in place, but my most complex setup uses a HASv3.0, a Meanwell MWP-606 PSU, a B&O MX7000 RGB TV, and a Jamma 6-in-1 linking a CPS2 multi, a CPS3 multi, a MVS, a F3 Multi, and a STV multi...

Perfect setup.
I would be interested by some pictures of this setup ;)

Sure, it doesn't look too tidy, but wtf this is a man cave anyway.

The Harness for the ST-V and the MVS is not plugged in to the motherboards (but its plugged to the 6-in-1) the HAS has the 4 player option and one UD-USB adapter plugged in.

The kick harness is plugged to the CPS3. The CPS2 multi display is in front of the TV, the F3 one is vertical at the left of the F3. The PCB wrapped in a bubble bag is the SCSCI2SD for the CPS3 (I could mount it stealth but I was doing some tests with it)

It's a standup setup, so I play it using a guitar seat (so that my eyes are at TV level), and I mostlyplay with a TE2 Fightstick on my lap.

Thanks, impressive setup. No problem with 5v and jamma 6 in 1 ? Because I've tried a 6 in 1 as well, but my taito f3 was not booting at all when plugged to it.

Thanks, it will look better when I finish the cable management part:)

No problems at all with the power, plenty of reserve still.. I just make sure to fine tune the voltage everytime I select a new PCB.

the 6-in-1 is from "time harvest" shop at aliexpress, the extended cps2 and cps3 kickharnesses are from RGB (custom ordered) :)

Where does CPS2, CPS1, and NAOMI fall in terms of juice required?
+5V/~3A and +12V/1-1.5A - @undamned will know the exact amperage draw. Naomi is a different beast, as it requires +3.3V and you will most likely need a dedicated PSU (can be an ATX PSU with the right connector/adapter).

Need that -5v. Are there any better versions of the negatron that output higher current?
Please check these:
  • TRACO POWER THL 10-2421WI
  • MEAN WELL DKA15A-05
  • MEAN WELL DKE10A-05
  • AIMTEC AM10CW-2405D-NZ
I didn't go into their datasheets to check their ripple noise, though, so you may want to investigate a bit.

I've never actually checked CPS1 current draw, but CPS2 varies. CPS2 B boards are all over the place due to variations in the memory type (EPROM, mask ROM, flash SIMM, etc.) and quantity. I think the worst I'd seen was 3-3.5A on the 5V supply. 12V powers the audio and fan and 1.0A would be more than enough.

I was wondering about that...does that still happen with the multi? Meaning if the CPS2 game is using more elements from the board will it draw more power? I am trying to pin point an issue with an Arcade cabinet.

Never thought about this, do you know what's the connector type and what is the pinout for Player 3/4?
will take some pic and try to find the pinout diagram after the board arrive.
Thx

HAS 3.0 with OSSC on 50” lcd tv, the result is really great. Look really sharp with scanline and the audio so great too.

That's a clean setup, thanks for sharing!

HAS can get more awesome if you own a set of Panzer wireless panel or built a set of panzer clone wireless:)..thanks to my fellow arcade-project for selling me the wireless kit:)
What is this wizardry?!!
wireless HAS.. I have the MK30 and Panzer wireless. a member was selling the wireless kit only.. I was looking for a set way back but the Panzer creator did not sell the wireless kit separately at that time..He buys the wireless kit from a source which I think is in Europe.. i plugged in the two pieces of the wireless kit that you see there to the HAS and my Panzers work so making the HAS wireless. These wireless kit are great because I do not notice lag at all..
Ok, who is gonna start offering these wireless kits??? DO they work with XBOX One/PS4 controllers?
Maybe reach out to the Panzer creator and see if he can sell you a kit or let you know where you can buy.. I am not sure about XboX/PS4.. I know that there is/was a firmware update where you can get the kit working on Windows PC. I am going to be looking at that to get it working on my GroovyMAME setup and my NECs monitors.

edit - if I understand this correctly - can be used on a PS3 and PC as a PS3 controller. in theory, any PS4 game that support PS3 pads should work on the PS4..

Awesome! Congratulations on your collection. With Jassin's approval, you got yourself a stellar setup.
