Is it possible to save high scores on CPS3 Multi?

If I resolder a battery back on the cps3 cart will it retain my high scores or will it reset to default every time I power down? Thanks!

I believed, if you pick the same bios all the time Your setting will save. I know when I change bios region my free play would change

Well the cart does save my free play setting if I continuously select the same region. However, I was wondering if there was a way to save the high score for versus and what not. It's purely for bragging rights, so if it's not possible its not a big deal. I can't remember if a live cart would save the high score. It has been a long time since I had a live cart.
