What's new
yeah, well i helped one guy here on the forum out because the stuff he needed was only available on german ebay, a few months later he had something for sale and didn't even bother to answer || .

i don't really blame them, it's frustrating nonetheless...

Factory PSU with regulator disabled ftw.

- Don't need a bulky laptop PSU
- It's an original tried and tested Sega design
- You dont need to buy anything additional
- If you sell it to someone who wants to run an optical drive it is easily reinstated

Is it reasonable to assume that Beharbros got it right?

Also seen no mention of these power supplies. They look like the Pico Psu’s with chriz2600 style connector. I saw these mentioned on RETRORGB but it was just an announcement of a brand new product on the market. Bob didn’t review or critique them. Anyone think these would fare well?

I have a Saturn with a rhea but a dead psu and a Dreamcast with a usb gdrom. While I can do the 12V mod for the Dreamcast, I like the idea of using a dc splitter and running consoles off an external power supply to cut down on total cords.

I also saw this PS1 pico power supply? Reading the PCB led me to a “Wills game store” website that sells mods.

I would like to think someone got something right here out of all these options and didn’t merely all copy one another? Maybe I’ll just do the 12v mod and recap my sega Saturn psu

Hello guys,

With the issues reported with the DreamPSU and SaturnPSU, I'm looking for alternatives.
I've come across Rexus2019 versions of these PSUs and I'm wondering if any of you have any experience with them?

ReDream PSU and ReSaturn PSU

If you don't recommend them I might look into DragonCity's PICOPSU alternative.

I don't have first hand experience with them but they appear much better designed than the SaturnPSU. I see better voltage regulators, a protection diode and it accounts for all models and voltage differences of the various Saturn console revisions.

Thanks for your reply Frank_fjs

Actually the one from BBS looks like the one I just linked. Just arranged differently on the board.
I've stumbled on a Twitter post from Matt Phillips (Big Evil Corps/Tanglewood) that used one on his dev kit with no issues apparently.

Well...

I ordered both the ReDream PSU and ReSaturn PSU.

I'll report how it goes, but unfortunately I don't have the equipment to test them in details.
I would really like to know what an electrical engineer/specialist can tell me about them.

So it seems that the ReSaturn PSU is working fine, I'm using a good quality 12V 5A PSU and no issues for now.
I still have to try the Dreamcast one, but I'm waiting for the MODE and my replacement noctua fan for that.
