Hello, while waiting for my MVS MULTI I have a question... don't want to spam the help thread... regarding the settings of the menu:
if I got it right, they are saved in the MVS's backup RAM - why not in the multi?
This does include the (software dip) settings for each game, right?
The menu is treated like another game and its configuration is stored in the backup RAM. The multi doesnt store the configuration of any game. All the savings from all games are stored on the microSD in a file called BUFF.
So if the MVS memory gets corrupted and has to be erased, or overwritten by using more than 8 different (original) games, the menu settings are lost?

No, the settings are automatically saved/loaded from /to the microSD everytime you change a game.

Is this true?

"darksoft isn’t compatible with unibios, has graphical glitches, the memory card corrupts when you swap ports... "

Where does that quote come from?

Unibios is compatible, just has a scrambled startup screen atm, no biggy. Gfx issues are well on the way to being fixed, mc corruption - not afaik??

I think we all know where the quote comes from....

None of that is true. reason for GFX issue on 3-4 carts is now known and there is no mc corruption.

I didn't have a memory card to test with, so I can't speak to that specific bug.
I will say its the first time I've read about that, so interested if someone could check/confirm it.

My tests showed no functional difference between a 1FZ running stock BIOS, and another 1FZ running UniBIOS 3.3.
Yes the UniBIOS boot logo is scrambled, but you can also disable this...

Under the general bios settings, in addition to "disable bootup HW test" also check "disable splash screen" press "A" to set.

There are 200 carts on the wild, only few people reported issues in the help thread and most of them are already solved without updating anything.

So i would say that the quote is not true.

Unibios seems completely incompatible on 4-slot boards for now. At least in my experience. Removing them made everything 100% better.

On the 1FZ, I had zero issues with the Stock bios or Unibios 3.3 running the multi cart. Now Im just thinking of disabling the HW test & Splash Screen, to speed up load times. Kinda annoying to see the splash screen on every game load. But then again, I really dont use a single feature of the unibios, I dont really need cheat codes. I just play games as is.

I hope the quote is not true.. I just bought one and have been following for a long time. :) i know another new device was announced but no idea if the person was related to the project.

Ah but one you should be very interested in... Setting the motherboard to 1 coin slot/shoot AND USA region at the same time!
Normally you can only set the motherboard to 1 coin slot in the JPN region.
This is a "big deal" if your cab only has one coin slot/shoot and you like to play games in english. :)

"Option allows coin in chute one to credit as coin in shoot two if 2up start held and region is USA"

Is this true?
really there are only 3 issues that have cropped up

1. dead pixels that affect certain carts (and there is a fix in place now)

2. Voltage issues on MV1F and MV1FS main board that cause reboots or problems reading the CF card (temp fix of simply turning down the 5V line with a permanent solution being worked on now).

3. compatibility issues with the 4-slot and 6-slot main boards particularly when using the unibios (with a permanent solution being worked on now).

Yes these issues suck but they only affect a sub-set of the people who bought the cart, and soon there will be solutions in place so that 0 people have problems with their carts.

A big part of the reason Darksoft got so much support for his MultiMVS cart with people waiting to buy his cart when there were others available is because of his fantastic track record of support with his previous products.

The CPS3 Super BIOS, the STV Multi, the CPS2 Multi, the F3 Multi have all enjoyed fantastic support from their launch up to and including the present, so even with the above problems no one is worried that they wont be solved.

The CPS2 had some problems when it first launched too, but it didn't take long for a solutions to be developed and distributed to all owners of that hardware. And even years after it's initial release new features have been added at no cost... that kind of dedicated support breeds confidence in future products.

I have coin chute at 1, but jpn region though. I like playing most games in Japanese language/voice, unless I really have to understand dialog/read something to play the game, then english if the option exists.

It's why I made the Walsdawg Arcade tokens to begin with. ;)

why use coins when there's a freeplay option?
I'm older and have put thousands of dollars worth of quarters in the slot. I don't miss it or have fond memories of it.

What I do miss is the sound of a big arcade. The casinos kind of reminds me but I haven't been to one in years.

That's the funny thing, I do have coins in the coin box in case someone does put a quarter in out of habit.

True be told, only 3 out of my 6 cabs have the coin mech. One accepts dollars...wish that wasn't checked before I bought it.
