What I do miss is the sound of a big arcade. The casinos kind of reminds me but I haven't been to one in years.
I'll often turn on all my machines (5, 6 now that I'm babysitting a friend's) in my basement and just kind of bask in the cacophony. It's nowhere near enough, but it's still nice.

I deemed the idea a waste of money, but when I visited Japan arcades I liked I noticed it was basically a wall of Vewlix cabs under black lights.

So I thought, what if I string black lights up in my game room and print out life-size/wall size images/posters (like the above).
Would it help to recreate that big Japanese arcade look/feel in a small (my apartment) space?

Haha @Derick2k can confirm I was highly tempted to shove a "Taito Game Station" area rug/doormat into my backpack and make a run for it...
Who knows what the punishment for petty theft even is in Japan... I'm going to assume death. ;)

Haha, I used to turn on all the games and coin them up and start them all at the same time and then just lay on the couch, close my eyes, and dream...

:D

Im still looking for them, gonna have to resort to having some custom made, the only question is do I make one per cab, 1 per 2 cabs, or just have a long one made that I can put in front of all 4 vewlixs.

I have a savage hunger for the real thing, we need to get access to that exclusive Taito parts catalog Game Station affiliates only use.

Hehe, I even tried to bribe an employee for his "Taito Game Station Operator" work shirt...
Something was getting lost in the translation (yes we had a translator with us) however, as I kept saying "ask him how much its going to take to make this happen" and he looked confused/didn't understand.

I thought you were going to jail for sure :)

Hmmmm...maybe ask KC to hook it up with his providers for mats and benches; how did he orders those Diamond Black cabs??

You'd be kidnapped into a blinded black car, driven to a wharehouse.. and then you'd be forced to give up the top of your pinky 'voluntarily' :D

Still wish you could make the menu like this though...

Darksoft said that he would eventually open the menu to be edited/changed iirc. Maybe there is a way to reskin it or have menu themes at some point. But for now, I rather they concentrate on making sure all mobos are supported without issues and work out any kinks with the like 3-4 games that have issues.

So hang in there, Darksoft always delivers the goods.

I think that it would be nice to have a simple menu that does not use a slot (so that we could have 4 games loaded)

The current menu is excellent and could be a separate program that can be loaded to a slot in case extended functionality is needed.

Does that sound senseful?

By the way, it would be also nice to add the 240p monitor test functionality to the current menu as well :)

curious... does the memory need to be divided into evenly sized slots?

would it be possible to have "dynamic slots" allowing for say either 3 large games, or 5 or 6 (or even more) smaller games?

that could be done, but would require signifcant changes in the FPGA code. Once we got the bugs fixed, we will only improve it to make your experience even better

For those of us with Neo cabs with select buttons, just curious if it's possible to hijack that button to be useful, or if that's pretty hardwired into switching physical slots.

Well if you go after 2020 you can always use me to translate. Your guy probably had no concept of what you were doing lol
