System 16 Sound / Volume Pot

Quick question for you guys: the pot in the sound area on a System 16 board - that controls volume right?

Just want to make sure it's not like the Taito F3 and that I won't fry the board or something if I adjust it.

Thanks, that got sound up to a reasonable volume but it now sounds fuzzy/tinny.

I guess a re-cap may be in order.
