MS8-29 double image

Played with V-Hold. Confirmed that low-res header was occupied. Tried swapping games. What next? Anyone have experience with a cap kit solving this?

Stable, hence why V-Hold has no effect.

Check the vertical section? All the 4xx caps. Other then that, seeing as you're using the right 15kHz header I'm out of ideas

that's certainly a strange one.

usually when I get a double image it's due to the video source, like trying to run a 31K image through a 15K monitor. but obviously your MVS isn't outputting 31K.

if the chassis has never been capped then it can't hurt but while it's out I'd recommend looking over the whole board closely for any other damaged components, cold solder joints etc. particularly the vertical section as XeD said.
