I keep the original green color - simple car paint (but the pcb is South America version)

Yes positive. I tried shooting you an email but not sure I got the right address. I got my board in 2015.

Try the guide. If you can't do it, mitsurugi could do it for you for a small fee.

So my Bootloader was updated and so was the firmware. I can tell because the LCD says “programming key” when powering up and the Flash.img disappeared after booting.

However I’m getting a solid light blue screen now. No sound nothing. Not sure what to do. I used a flathead to short EXC5, just the outer legs to the inner leg. Didn’t do anything. I formatted the SD and loaded back in my “old” rollup kit which should work. I haven’t installed the Key wirings yet. Anyone have Any ideas??!

I bought my kit like 2 months ago, I presume I should be safe with installing the wiring? I would doubt the online vendors would have any old backstock old boards

I update mine to a new firmware in 2015 or 2016 i presume - but unsure if it is already able to do it now via sd card - how can i check this the easiest way?

just copy the latest firmware in the microSD. It's a file called flash.img. Power on the CPS2 Multi and wait for 15 seconds. Check the microSD in the PC. If the file is deleted, then the update went well.

Gracias Señor!

If not i can update via STM32 using the same flash.img file - right?

So I need one info for one buddy. He has one ssf2X jap, what's must I do to run the multi cps2?

Same as any other CPS2 B-board (so I really don't know why you are asking) strip it down/make it bare (aka pull all the MASKROMs).
Cut the battery off (assuming its still on battery) set the jumpers correctly, solder the reset/key wires and install the multi PCB.

If you don't already have a G-PAL, get one and install it (I think SSF2X is G-PAL stock but I don't remember).

SSF2X is a D PAL

It will need the daughter board and other ROMs removed, a G PAL and jumper wire

Edited as per Mitsurugi-w

You don't need to mess with the jumpers. It should work as long as they were set correctly for the game that was installed.

I retract and have edited my previous statement

When did that change?

When did that change?
Depends on the game used, Marvel vs Capcom didn't need any jumper setting/resetting for example.
Its for this hastlefree reason I recommend using this game.

Sure others work just fine, but lets review all the features that make MvC the best doner board.
  • G-PAL stock
  • Jumpers pre-configured for the multi
  • Rev 7 motherboard (assuming its NOT a factory rework)

I need to convert my CPS2 unencrypted multi, and setup a friend's new multi this weekend. Is there a best/good guide for doing either? Sorry, I looked around and I'm only seeing bits and pieces of information.
