In any case, please guys keep throwing ideas, we will see if / who will implement them if they seem to be popular.

Expect some small downtimes during the transition to the new server. A screen notifying you that site is under maintenance will appear. No panic

PHP 7, FastCGI or PHP-FPM and opcode caching (e.g. Zend opcache) should all help if not already in use. Nginx as web server or reverse proxy can also help.

After getting everything up to date, I was able to migrate forum software and database to new server for testing, everything appears to work as it should!

DNS has been configured for low cache expiry time, will wait for that to propagate out and we're almost ready to move :thumbup:

Just been having trouble with the site yesterday and today. Long loading times, or can't connect on occasion. It's intermittent. I saw a few other folks in another thread say the same, so I thought I'd post.

Seems to be an issue with the latest version of the software running this board. Should be fixed though.

It appears to me that there is either some DOS going on or the webserver is _very_ busy for some reason.
It connects, does not timeout, but waits a long time to serve me the page.

Server itself does not spit out any info as to its version or exploitability

Neither dos PHP.

Still some memory or open socket issue seems likely. Maybe limit the connection rate?
