I picked this board up really cheap and it turned out to be a great bootleg (MK Revision 3.0 8/31/92, c-13234-40025). The seller listed it as for-repair because of a CMOS error at boot, but that was just the result of a dead battery.

I simply cleaned and recapped it (long-life 105C rated caps), added back the missing cap near the jamma edge, fixed botchy button wiring underneath, and added a coin cell battery socket w/rechargeable LIR2032. The nice thing about the bootleg is that it's Jamma+ so all buttons work perfectly with the HAS Supergun without a kick!

Nice job once again!

I like these boards with all buttons on the Jamma, used to own a SF2CE boot with all 6 buttons wired similar to a Pandora’s Box :)

How did you get kicks for this? Through jamma I'm only getting 3 buttons. No 4th
Obviously no 5 either but right now I get 1 punch, 1 kick and block. Missing 1 punch and 1 kick.

Mine has a bodge wire or two underneath, but I don't have a picture. They connect these pins to the JAMMA edge.

I just bought the same bootleg, can't wait to recieve it. Do You perhaps remember the type / ammount of caps needed for a recap? Unfortunately can't find any schemes about it..

Thanks in advance.

Extreme thread necro! Finish Him!

Have just bought this same bootleg based on the info in this thread, paid $US35

Will post results here when it arrives.

I recently got a similar looking MK Boot PCB. Had a few hiccups initially, but it seems to run fairly well, except the sound disappears after couple of minutes.

I suspect I need to look into new caps, but any other suggestions?

Also, I need to replace the battery. I see SmokeMonster used a rechargeable battery. Mine still has a BR2325 (which is non-rechargeable).

By replacing it with a rechargeable battery, is the battery actually recharging on this PCB?

Turns out that the sound in attract mode disappears after a couple of minutes by default. I had a similar experience with a Midway Mortal Kombat 2 PCB.

If you insert a coin the sound is back.
