Taito F3 LCD issues but games are working

Hi

I revently go a taito multi.
It is working ok, but the lcd shows nothing. just some weird blocks if i adjust the contrast.

I can switch and load the games with the buttons, but i have do do it blind.

I think the lcd is defekt.

I also tried reflashing the firmware and multiple other sd cards.

Maybe someone can help.

Maybe it's a bad LCD. Can also be a bad cable. When and where did you buy it?

hi

i bought it through arcade otaku.

It worked first when i hooked it up my neo candy 25. Just sound was missing. Pcb was a little bit loose after shipping.

When i hooked it up on my Blast City the Lcd Screen turned into this. Since then no progress. now i am using my Windygames Supergun.

the weird thing is that with my other LCD from my CPS 2 multi it was also showing nonsense.

Did you try a different cable? Or just the LCD.
 
Maybe it is ok for darksoft to send it to you for repair?

i really don't know what else i can do.
 
Did you try that LCD on the cps2?

So which is true. (I'm a bit confused):

1. The LCD from the CPS2 kit does NOT work on the F3 multi

2. The LCD from the F3 multi does NOT work on the CPS2 multi

3. Both 1 and 2



It would be very odd for you to have a bad F3 multi AND bad LCD.
 
So..

I also tried the cps2 lcd and cable on the taito.

Nothing just blocks when i adjust the contrast.

Must be an issue on the multi pcb.
Games are still working perfect.

And you are positive the F3 LCD does NOT work on the CPS2 kit?
 
if you have a known working CPS2 Multi I would run through these scenarios:

1. CPS2 with F3 Cable and CPS2 LCD
2. CPS2 with CPS2 Cable and F3 LCD
3. F3 with F3 cable and CPS2 LCD
4. F3 with CPS2 cable and F3 LCD

try those 4 combinations and report back with something like:
1. works
2. doesn't work
3. works
4. doesn't work

that will narrow down exactly what the problem is.

tested everything.

CPS2 is working.

cps2 lcd + cps2 cable+ F3 : doesn't work just blocks.(but they are homogen)
f3 lcd + f3cable + cps2 : only parts of the letters are visible.
f3lcd + cps2 cable + cps2: nothing is displayed( if i adjust the contrast on the CPS2 blocks will appear.
f3lcd + cps2 cable + f3: just disorted blocks.

what else can i do.

From your tests looks like both the kit and the LCD are the problem.

No, I'm sorry I can't take care of that now. From your tests looks like sending you a new LCD panel won't help as the problem is also coming from your kit. Did you check that the Kit is fully making contact with the mobo? Is everything inserted properly?

and yes, checked all twice if it is right inserted,

Games are working.

So i have to put only a few games on the sd card so i can select them correctly.
