i thought some games used the ASIC for additional processing outside of protection?

Interesting note about that picture. Not only is the security ASIC removed, so is the PAL that would normally be modified....

Hmm, he hasn't modified the PALs there either.

I'm glad I picked up the Killing Blade cart so I can do the Espgaluda conversion, but what witchcraft is this that @lydz has achieved

My Ketsui conversion on KoV2 doesn't even work :(

I have also not had any luck yet with the KoV2 cart. The KoV2 - Nine Dragons work fine. I tried to trace the PIC on the working and non working boards but I have not been able to find a pattern there.

To do a DDP DOJ conversion you need :
I just wanted to post up a thank you for this great guide.

I followed your post for converting my KOVSH (PCB-0490) into DDP DOJ BL and it works great. This really is the best PCB for this conversion since it uses 3.3V for the ROMs already and has level shifters. so there's no lifted pins, voltage converters, wiring, or hot glue necessary... just swap the chips for a clean install.
