What's new
hi, i didn't try my flashcard for about 10 days. Today I decided to try it again but now it is impossible to play! As soon as I turn on my console, it appear these screens:

then:
https://s14.postimg.cc/6synk3ksx/IMG_0874_Copia.jpg

and then the music started and it appears this screen: it seems that there are the 3 games loaded in the 3 slots:

I dind't push any button and the 1st game started automatically:

So, I quicky formatted the microSD card (sandisk, 16GB, A1 class, it is new), and I copy/paste the beta 2 pack, that already includes the last menu version. But nothing, same problem:

and then the game list appears, more or less:

My MVS cartridges work perfectly, so for sure it is a problem of the flashcard i think. Now what I can do in order to play? I tried to blow into the contacts of the flashacard, but i'm sure that it is totally clean, it is protected in a shockbox. So it isn't dirty.

Please, let me know what I can do.

so games work well but there is a problem with the menu, right? Try doing a menu update copying the menu to both \updates\menu and games\menu

What's the Voltage level of the battery in your mobo?

Some reasons why we were asking for suggestions for new menu music ;)
Could unibios type of cheats and jukebox features be added?

I always thought this was a beatiful tune:

no, games too have the same issue, it is not possibile to correctly visualize anything now...:(
I asked the voltage to the guy who built my console: 5V
Can you help me? Do you want I ship my console and my cart to you in order to test it?

@legolas119 first of all make sure you delete the BUFF file and clean backup ram from the BIOS. Also try to rewrite the microSD with smokemonster's pack.

If that doesnt fix it and we can't find the source, then we'll see you having it sent to me.

ok, so first of all, i try to totally format again the microSD. This time not a quick format, but a deep format, ok? Then I will copy the 2 folders of the beta pack 2 from PascalP, ok?

Yes try that, make sure it is formatted as Fat32 and pick the biggest cluster size.

Also I would try to clear your motherboards nvram, that way you have a 100% clean start :)

I'm formatting it at 32Kylobyte...is it necessary to re-format it at 64kylobyte?
Unfortunately i don't kow how to clear the motherboard nvram...is it easy?

the higher the better. To clean motherboard nvram just press service button and cycle through the option until you see a screen asking you to press B,C and D to clear backup ram.

ok, microSD formatted and I copyed the 2 folders from the beta 2 pack.

LAst question in order to clean the ram: in my consolized console I only have the button to turn on/off the console...I don't have a Service button...are you talking about this? If so, I have to tunr on the console without any cart inside?

I don't have a Service button
If you have UniBIOS you can hold B+C+D at power-on to reach the hardware test/cross-hatch screen.
Then press "start" to change test menu screens until you reach the "A+B+C" to clear memory screen.

This was one of my biggest/only complaints about the Arcadeworks Omega.
It should have Test/Service buttons on the back side, dependence on a specific (Uni)BIOS isn't a solution, its a work around. ;)

done, I cleaned the backup ram and i set the date/hour. Then I turned off the console, I put again the cart inside, I turned on, and then after the hardware test/cross-hatch screen, it appear the same screens that I linked in my post above... :( :( Do you think that the reason could be the microSD? Or is it necessary to change the battery of my console? I could buy a microSD like this?

or this

EDIT: I tried again to clean the nvram. I noticed that, despite I have set the right date/hour some minutes before (I set 23:34 , in Italy), when i cleaned the ram for the 2nd time, the hour displayed wasn't right: it was displayed 23:40 but the right hour was 23:53...it seems that it can't keep the right date/hour... do you think that it is better to change the battery? In any case i think that this isn't related to my issue...

thanks

Please post a pic of your microSD, but AFAIK there are no more issues anymore with that if you format and use 64kb cluster size.
What is the voltage level on your battery? That can cause some issues, but not the ones you mention.

Thanks, here my microSD:

Please, read my EDIT in the previous post. It seems that my battery needs to be changed..?
The voltage is 5V, I asked this info to the guy who built my console

I have that same SD Card working perfectly.

I had some similar but nowhere near as bad effects as you with one of the slots in my 2 slot motherboard. I believe it is just the slot being a bit looser. I could wiggle the cart around and the graphic would get better or worse. Then I changed to my other slot and it worked perfectly.

If you move the cart around gently back and forth do the graphics change?

Have you tried reinstalling the firmware also?

5V can't be right. The battery is 3V. You must have measured somewhere else or with the system powered on.
PM Sent.
yes, I extracted the battery, it is a 3V. I don't know...the guy who built the console says that the voltage to the motherboard is 5V... do I have to ask him another specific question?

well, the issue started yesterday. It was about 10 days that i dond't use the cart. i didn't experience this issue before...now i extracted the battery...is it better to change it? it seems that it could be empty because it can't keep the right hour...

Those are normal values and as expected. But the fact that it loses the settings can indicate another problem with your mobo. do you have another one to try with?
