Hi folks,

Well, i did a test with my CPS-2 games. All of them have sound problems, and guess what, this is due to the capacitors ! :/

I'm going to buy a whole bunch to recap them, because as they are, when they die, you get no more sound.....

My Armored Warriors Asia has some sound, but it's butt ugly, this means that they just died, so i will remove and replace new ones.

I tested as well my neogeo MVS system, same problem. Oldish capacitors, i have some cracklings on sound FX (i know my carts are OK).

Same as computers and console, this cost in fact quite a few bucks of money.....

i'll post soon how it behaves once recapped :)

Cool. I know that for MVS at least, crackling can be caused by dirty edge connection between cartridge and mobo, not always caps.

Here it's too obvious. The sound is horrible, going high and low, and doing CRRR CRRR CRRR.

That's typical of dried/dead Capacitors. And after all, those machines date from 1993-1994. More than 20 years now.
